Upcoming RTS Battlecruisers Showdown to Launch on Mobile on November 5
The visually stunning 2D RTS Battlecruisers Showdown (also known as just “Battlecruisers”) is coming to iOS and Android platforms on November 5, 2023, via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store respectively. The game was initially released on February 5, 2021, on PC via Steam for $5.99. This mobile version of the game, however, will be a free-to-play title with microtransactions.
Battlecruisers is a 2D RTS game set in a post-apocalyptic version of the year 2732. Humanity has been eradicated by this time and the only ones left are robots who have become reckless and power-hungry entities. In this game, you play as Charlie, a utility robot who takes a Trident-class battleship for a ride, not knowing that it actually belongs to the world’s greatest superpower. With the most formidable force in the world after you, you must defend your cruiser and protect it from doom. Building various weaponry like frigates, artillery, bombers, lasers, stealth generators, and more!
The gameplay involves selecting different arenas that each have their own conditions and rewards. You must defend yourself from approaching enemies for five minutes. The game gives you a plethora of weaponry to construct to make the ultimate cruiser. For example, you can add rapid-fire artillery, nuke launchers, and devastating ultra weapons like the Death Star Satellite, Ultralistk Rapid Fabrication Facility, and the Kamikaze Signal. As you play the game, you unlock up to 30+ buildings and units to make your cruiser stronger. Eventually, you encounter powerful bosses like the Huntress, Destruktor, and Karen, and ultimately you have a final showdown with the Presidentron, the leader of the great superpower.
Battlecruisers Showdown is accompanied by an impressively hand-drawn 2D art style. The game’s graphics place a heavy emphasis on explosion effects. In particular, the game uses particle system generation which means that all explosion effects are randomly generated, and you will be able to see the same explosion twice. Aside from awesome 2D graphics, the game also features an addictive soundtrack that dynamically changes depending on the mood of the gameplay. If there is not much action going on, the music is mellow; however, if the action starts pumping up, the music becomes more intense.
Build the best weapons for your cruiser and defeat the diabolical AI fiends by installing and playing Battlecruisers Showdown on PC or Mac with BlueStacks when the game officially launches. The main benefit of doing this compared to getting the official PC release is the fact that the mobile version is free to play. You essentially get the same experience as the PC version without charge while also getting access to awesome features like macros and controller support.
