Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice is a brand-new city-builder RPG that also incorporates many of the usual social simulator mechanics to add on to the survivability theme going for the game. Touted as the official mobile ported version of the popular survival RPG Frostpunk, the game has been developed by Com2US and being published by Netease globally. This collaboration between 2 game giants has finally allowed Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice to release globally despite being released in early access state in select regions just the previous year. Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice can be downloaded as a free-to-play game on both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store.

For those who do not know, Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice has the solid backing of an already established title Frostpunk which is exclusively available only on PC. The game’s share a lot of things in common such as a budding chilling atmosphere, thematic Industrial revolution-based storyline, and top-notch graphics that aid players in getting accommodated with the overall nature of the game. As a franchise, Frostpunk has continued to amass a massive following, selling out 3 million copies in total ever since it came out in 2018. Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice, the mobile version, was announced in early 2021, with an early access test going on in April 2022.

In the world of Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice, a massive steam engine serves as the centre of a metropolis that is engulfed in an ice age. Assuming the role of the city’s ruler, players have the responsibility of putting laws into effect, managing a workforce, and building infrastructure to guarantee the welfare and future of the populace.

Deviating from the PC version, Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice seems to have a lot of unique features up its sleeve that it has to offer to the masses. Firstly, the mobile ported version will have an extensive Guild system, where Guild members can collaborate together to embark on missions or share resources among each other. Such missions can offer generous rewards to all the guild members, and provide them with helpful buffs. 

The ability to rescue rare animals from the frozen wilderness adds another layer of gameplay, and the addition of a unique trade system allows players to obtain valuable resources from other players. As far as release date is concerned, no official statement is yet made by Com2US or Netease. But it’s expected that a full-blown announcement will soon be made on their official social media handles.
