Update: check out the winners of Google Play Awards 2016!

Google I/O 2016 will launch the first annual Google Play Awards for the best Android apps and games. Attend in person or watch the live stream on May 19th at 7:00 pm PDT. Google says in the last year they have reached more than 1 billion Android users across more then 190 countries- the awards ceremony is a way to recognize the hard work of the developer community. The team at Google has selected the top apps based on the following criteria; app quality, innovation, and having a launch or major update in the last 12 months. Here is the full list of five nominees across ten award categories:
