Summoners War: Sky Arena – January 2023 Monster Skill Balancing Patch
One of the biggest balance patches for Summoners War: Sky Arena is about to be dropped in-game soon! The community is especially excited for this balance patch as this will be the 1st balance patch for 2023 and just before the current World Arena season is about to end. Regular Balance changes are quite mandatory at this point because the game has over 1000+ collectible monsters. With such a huge number of monsters, it’s quite evident that only a handful of them are seen at the highest echelons of the PvP meta. Com2US has long been criticized for this power creep but it is to be expected for a game that is about to complete 9 years of live game service. Summoners War: Sky Arena is available to be downloaded and installed on both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store.
The overall sentiment of the community seems positive in regards to the balance changes made to meta monsters such as Wind Sky Surfer, Dark Mage, Fire Beast Rider, and more. Keep in mind that this is a pre-patch notice and these balance changes will likely be implemented with the next official update. Let’s see the monsters who are getting nerfed, buffed, or bug fixed.
Monster Skill Balancing
- Dark Mage (Passive Skill – Start of Pain): Absorbs the enemy’s HP by 5% of your MAX HP, up to 10% → Absorbs the enemy’s HP by 4%, up to 8% for each harmful effect granted on the target when you attack the enemy on your turn.
- Fire Beast Rider (Passive Skill – Wild Steps): Increases your Attack Speed by 15% whenever the ally’s Attack Bar is decreased → Increases your Attack Speed by 10% (up to 5 stacks)
- Water/Light Onmyouji (Passive Skill – Past Life Spell): Target ally including yourself → Target ally excluding yourself. You can no longer select yourself when using the skill.
- Light Onmyouji (Passive Skill – Yin Yang Five Elements): The ally recovers the HP by 10% -> 15% per harmful effect granted on the target at the start of that ally’s turn.
- Water/ Light RYU Striker (Skill – Tatsumaki Senpukyaku): Absorbs the Attack Bar of all enemies randomly between 10% – 20% -> 10% – 15% with a 30% chance
- Fire Ken Shadow Claw (Skill – Tatsumaki Senpukyaku): Absorbs the Attack Bar of all enemies randomly between 10% – 20% -> 10% – 15% with a 30% chance
- Dark RYU/ Striker (Skill – PPK Combo): 5th and 6th hits increase the duration of harmful effects granted on all enemies by 1 turn each →5th hit removes one beneficial effect of all enemies and the 6th hit increases the duration of harmful effects granted on them by 1 turn each
- Water Druid (Skill – Wild Cure): [Skill Activation Condition Changed】Increases the Attack Bar of all allies by 15% only when used during the Druid Form →Increases the Attack Bar of all allies by 15% even when used during the Beast Form
- Fire Druid (Skill – Wild Roar): [Skill Activation Condition Changed】Weakens the Defense of all enemies for 2 turns only when used during the Druid Form → Weakens the Defense of all enemies for 2 turns even when used during the Beast Form.
- Fire Druid (Passive Skill – Druid’s Proficiency): Absorbs the enemy’s Attack Bar by 15% → 25% when you attack on your turn
- Wind Druid (Skill – Forest of Living): [Skill Activation Condition Changed】Increases the Defense of all allies for 3 turns only when used during the Druid Form →Increases the Defense of all allies for 3 turns even when used during the Beast Form
- Light Druid (Skill – Rage of Mother Nature): [Skill Activation Condition Changed】Increases all enemies’ chances of landing a Glancing Hit for 2 turns only when used during the Druid Form -> Increases all enemies’ chances of landing a Glancing Hit for 2 turns even when used during the Beast Form
- Light Druid (Passive Skill – Druid’s Agility): Counterattacks the target that attacked you with a 50%→ 40% chance when you get attacked
- Dark Druid (Passive Skill – Druid’s Wisdom): [Effect Added】 Increases your Attack Bar by 20% when you get granted with inability effects
- Dark Druid (Skill – Moonlight Grace): [Skill Activation Condition Changed】Grants immunity on all allies for 2 turns only when used during the Druid Form →Grants immunity on all allies for 2 turns even when used during the Beast Form
- Fire Shadowcaster (Skill – Destructive Shadow): [Effect Added] Shadow protects you for 1 turn after using the skill. (Nullifies an enemy’s attack 1 time, cannot attack together, and attacks additionally before attacking if you use a skill on the next turn.
- Wind Shadowcaster (Skill – Frantic Chaos): Removes one beneficial effect from all enemies → Removes all beneficial effects from all enemies)
- Wind/ Light Shadowcaster (Skill – Shadow Tie): [Effect Added】 Increases your Attack Bar by 100% after using the skill. MAX cooldown time increased (4 turns → 5 turns)
- Wind Sky surfer (Skill – Mega Impulse Gun): [Effect Removed] Increases the damage dealt to the enemy by 10% each, up to 50%, whenever you use [Mega Impulse Gun]
- Light Sky surfer (Skill – Quantum Explosion): [Effect Added] Stuns all enemies for 1 turn with a 50% chance
- Water Ifrit (Passive Skill – Elemental King): [Effect Added】 Increases your Attack Power for 2 turns when you receive fatal attacks
- Wind/Dark Ifrit (Skill – Super Crush): Decreases the Attack Bar of the target enemy immune to stun by 50% →Decreases the Attack Bar of the target by 50% if the target is not stunned after attacking
- Wind Phoenix (Passive Skill – Tempest): Cooldown time decreased (5 turns → 4 turns)
- Wind Weapon Master (Passive Skill – Improvisation): [Skill Changed)
- Light Weapon Master (Passive Skill – Final Strike): Deals damage that ignores Defense → resists death if the target enemy’s HP is at 30% or below. [Effect Added] Additional attack always deals damage that ignores Defense (the damage that ignores Defense will be adjusted as the condition has been removed)
- Wind Gingerbrave Lollipop Warrior (Skill – Brave Dash): Increases the enemy’s skill cooldown time from 1 turn→ 2 turns.
- All Elemental HollyBerry Cookie/ Macaron Guard (Skill – Shield Bash): Provokes for 1 turn with a 50% chance → Decreases Defense for 2 turns with a 40% chance.
- Fire HollyBerry Cookie/ Macaron Guard (Skill – Hollyberry Shield): [Effect Added] Your Attack Speed decreases by 20% until the next turn starts.
- Wind HollyBerry Cookie/ Macaron Guard (Skill – Cries of Unity): Creates a shield that’s proportionate to the caster’s MAX HP → Defense
- Light HollyBerry Cookie/ Macaron Guard (Passive Skill – Burning Passion): [Effect Added] Each attack recovers the HP of all allies by 30% of the damage dealt
- Water/ Dark HollyBerry Cookie/ Macaron Guard (Skill – Sound the Charge! Justice of Dessert): [Skill Changed]
- Water Espresso Cookie/ Black Tea Bunny (Skill – Grinding Spinning Tea Spoon): [Effect Added] If the enemy’s Attack Bar is 0, you are guaranteed to freeze the target (ignores Resistance)
- Wind/Dark Espresso Cookie/ Black Tea Bunny (Skill – Grinding Spinning Tea Spoon): [Effect Added] If the enemy’s Attack Bar is 0, you are guaranteed to stun the target (ignores Resistance)
- Fire/ Light Espresso Cookie/ Black Tea Bunny (Skill – Extraction Dancing Teacup): HP loss in proportion to the enemy’s reduced Attack Bar
(As-is) Up to 30% (up to 5% if it’s a boss)
(To-be) Up to 40% (up to 10% if it’s a boss)
- Dark Espresso Cookie/ Black Tea Bunny (Skill – Blending Midnight Teatime): [Skill Effect Order Changed] Attacks all enemies and evens out the ratio of HP and Attack Bar afterward. Evens out the ratio of all enemies’ HP and Attack Bar and attacks them afterward
- Fire Sylphid (Awakened) (Passive Skill – Sacrifice): Decreases the enemy’s Attack Bar by 25% when you are attacking → Decreases the effects of skills that decrease the Attack Bar of your allies by 20%.
- Fire Sylphid (Skill – Fiery Tornado): Increases the Attack Bar of all allies by 25% -> Recovers the HP of all allies by 25%
- Water/Wind/Dark Horus (Skill – Desert Wind): Skill cooldown time decreased (5 turns -> 4 turns)
- Dark Horus (Passive Skill – Tip of the Spear): [Effect Added] Each attack removes one beneficial effect from the enemy with a 30% chance
- Wind Mermaid (Skill – Crushed Hopes): Increases the skill cooldown time of the enemy by 1 turn → 2 turns
