Arknights – Contingency Contract #12 features New Operators and Chapter 7 Preview
YoStar Games’s premiere title Arknights have released their Contingency Contract #12 update. Players can already check out the new content in-game as the update was concluded a few days back. Arknights is available to be downloaded and installed as a free-to-play game on both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store with in-game microtransactions enabled. The latest Contingency Contract #12 has started on 1st October and ends on 15th October, running for roughly 15 days.
Named as “Operation Base Point”, the new contingency contract features a plethora of challenging content as well as new operator recruitment banners. Firstly, “Nameless Sanctuary” is going to be one of the first challenging stages to be added as part of the event. Players will be able to meet formidable opponents from the Sarkaz faction, including but not limited to “Hateful Avenger”. As usual, players will be in control when it comes to choosing the difficulty tag of the operation beforehand. The higher the difficulty chosen, the greater the rewards, and vice versa.
Thorns – 6-Star Operator
Thorns is a 6-Star operator that is classified as a Ranged/Lord type Guard in-game. He has a base Attack of 296, HP of 1096, and a Defense of 191. Thorns is a melee operator that deals physical damage with his basic attack.
His description reads the following – “The Iberian Islander codenamed “Thorns” is an excellent swordsman of the Destreza swordsman school, a skill that should be only practiced among the local Liberi traditionally. Since his childhood, he was raised up by Aulus the Aegir priest who cherished his swordsmanship through the combination of his own toxic. Nevertheless, Thorns and Aulus had ideological differences that eventually led to their split-off following a purge by the Inquisition onto his church.”
Here are Thorn’s skills in detail: –
Attack Up Y: ATK +30%
Protective Spikes: Stops attacking; ATK +30%, DEF +40%; When hit by an enemy’s normal attack, launches long-ranged spikes at up to 4 enemies in front (0.8-second cooldown)
Destreza – Attack Range expands, ATK +26%, ASPD +12, and ranged attacks no longer deal reduced damage. Upon the second activation of this skill and afterwards, this skill has unlimited duration, and its bonuses are twice the base amount
Here are Thorn’s Talents in detail –
Nerve Corrosion (1st Talent): Poisons the targets when attacking, dealing 65 Arts damage to them per second, lasting 3 seconds (damage is doubled against Ranged enemies)
Echoes of Ancestral Waves (2nd Talent): If this unit hasn’t attacked for 2 seconds, restores 3.5% of Max HP every second
Here are Thorn’s base skills in detail –
Alchemy – When this Operator is assigned to the Workshop to process any material, the production rate of byproduct increases by 50%
Explosion Arts – When this Operator is assigned to the Workshop to process any material, this Operator’s Morale will be restored once for every 2 times no byproducts are produced during processing, equal to the Morale consumed for processing that corresponding formula one time (the final Morale total is calculated after processing is completed)
Lee – 6-Star Operator
Lee is a 6-Star operator that is classified as a DP-Brain/Merchant type Specialist in-game. He has a base Attack of 376, HP of 1179, and a Defense of 240. Lee is a melee operator that deals physical damage with his basic attack.
His description reads the following – “A laid-back Lung hailing from the Jiangdong region of Yan, Mr. Lee was originally a member of a merchant family who, owing to his carefree attitude, decided to leave his hometown and settle in Lungmen. Not only he familiarized himself with the underground world of Lungmen, but also founded his own detective agency capable of settling conflicts in the city. In the process, he took care of his step-niece Waai Fu, the daughter of his missing friend Tianpei, brought Aak under his care after his father’s tragic death in a gang fight, and hired Hung when he was fired by his company.”

Stern Admonishment: ATK +10% and gain 15% Arts Dodge. Unlimited duration
Exorcise Evil: Passive Effect: ASPD +10; Active Effect: Marks the target and makes them easier to be targeted by allies. The mark explodes after 5 seconds, dealing 200% Arts damage to nearby enemies. Every hit on the marked target by allies increases the explosion damage by 5% of Lee’s ATK (increases up to 20 times, and prematurely explodes if the limit is reached or the target is defeated)
Honored Guest – Expands Attack Range, ATK and DEF +25%; Besides the current target, all enemies within range are pushed away slightly every time Lee attacks. Increases the likelihood of being targeted by enemy attacks and gains a 50% chance to dodge Physical or Arts attacks coming from outside his Attack Range. Unlimited duration

Kindness Begets Prosperity (1st Talent): When Lee is blocking an enemy, the enemy has ASPD -7 and Lee has ASPD +7; If there is only one enemy within the surrounding 8 tiles, this effect is doubled
Preparedness Averts Peril (2nd Talent): When DP is consumed by this unit’s Trait, if there is sufficient DP, consumes 5 DP instead to block the next Stun/Frozen effect inflicted on this unit, and stuns the attacker for 3 seconds

Moment of Respite – When this Operator is assigned together with Aak to the Control Center, increases Morale recovery per hour of all Operators in the Control Center by +0.25
Worldly Insight – When this Operator is assigned to the Control Center, clue collection speed +25%
Irene – 6-Star Operator
Irene is a 6-Star operator that is classified as a Dualstrike/Swordmaster type Guard in-game. She has a base Attack of 249, HP of 1236, and a Defense of 151. Irene is a melee operator that deals physical damage with her basic attack.
Her description reads the following – “Ever since the day she was rescued by Dario the High Inquisitor following a natural disaster that wiped out her hometown, Irene was destined to become an Inquisitor thanks to her zealous faith. As Dario’s young disciple, she earnestly learnt his path so that she could become a perfect Inquisitor just like him. With her lantern, her saber, and her handcanon, she was ready to defend Iberia’s last pride against the ultimate evil of the shore ― the Seaborn. On the other hand, her blind justice sometimes led to the opposite results such as her unnecessary suspicion against the Islanders. Yet the girl never gave up in learning her maestro’s way.”

Gust: The next attack deals 100% ATK as Physical damage, and causes the target to Levitate1 second, then deals 100% ATK as Physical damage to it again
Shattertide: Deal 280% ATK as Physical damage to up to 4 ground enemies in front, and cause targets with 3 or less Weight to Levitate1 seconds. Can store 2 charges
Judgement – Deal 200% ATK as Physical damage to all nearby ground enemies, and cause them to Levitate2 seconds, then bombard 8 times, each hit dealing 180% ATK as Physical damage to all enemies in a small area around a random target

Flames of Casitgation (1st Talent): Physical damage has a 50% chance to ignore 30% DEF. Chance increases to 100% against aerial units.
Sword of Cleansing (2nd Talent): ASPD +18. Effect doubles when there are [Sea Monster] enemies on the battlefield.

Sword and Handcannon – When this Operator is assigned to be the Trainer in the Training Room, Guard and Sniper Operators’ Specialization training speed +30%
Mental Training – When this Operator is assigned to the Training Room to train an Operator for 5 hours, that Operator’s next training time -50% (effect expires if either Operator leaves the Training Room)
Dorothy – 6-Star Operator
Suzuran is a 6-Star operator that is classified as a Trapmaster type Specialist in-game. She has a base Attack of 263, HP of 702, and a Defense of 70. Dorothy is a ranged operator that deals physical damage with her basic attack.
Her description reads the following – “Hailing from a Columbian family of frontier pioneers with Sargonian ancestry, Dorothy Franks had displayed impressive educational achievements since her childhood. Following her mother’s demise in a Catastrophe which led to her father falling into a depression, Dorothy decides to study Originium Arts with the intention to find a way to eliminate discord and sorrow among the Terrans, and heavily inspired by Columbia’s pursue of science through various figures, notably Loken Williams the (in)famous Arts researcher. She eventually became one of the founding members of Rhine Lab as the youngest of them, leading its Originium Art Section responsible for in-depth studies of Arts principles and applications.”

Dangerous Entity Removal: Passive Effect: When a trap is triggered, deals 300% ATK as Physical damage and inflicts -25% DEF to the target for 5 seconds.
Active Effect: Immediately gain 1 trap
Quicksand Generation: Passive Effect: When a trap is triggered, deals 200% ATK as Physical damage to all nearby enemies and Bind them for 2 seconds. If the trap hits only 1 target, Bind them for 3.5 seconds instead
Active Effect: Immediately gain 1 trap
High-Speed Resonating Troubleshooter – Passive Effect: When a trap is triggered, deals 200% ATK as Arts damage to all enemies in range and Slow them for 3 seconds. After a delay, trigger other Resonators within range
Active Effect: Immediately gain 1 trap

Resonator (1st Talent): Can deploy up to 4 Resonators (Can store up to 6); The first enemy that steps on a Resonator will trigger its effect
Dreamer (2nd Talent): After a trap activates, Dorothy gains +2% ATK, stacking up to 10 times

Theoretical Application of Originum Arts – When this Operator is assigned to a Factory, provides an additional +5% productivity for every Rhine Technology-type skill in the same Factory
