Epic Seven – Specialty Change Unbound Knight Arowell, and Special Side Story Bloods and Roses Re-Run
Following the end of Epic Seven World Cup 2022 (E7WC), Smilegate is consistently releasing new heroes or making changes to existing ones to introduce new mechanics for their turn-based RPG Epic Seven. The patch preview for this week’s update was shown live to all players through the community managers Mashuu and Gregory via live streams on the game’s official YouTube channel and Twitch channel. These patch preview live streams are one of the best ways to showcase upcoming content to people interested in the development of the game. For this week’s patch preview, players were greeted by a new specialty change for an ML 3-Star hero – Arowell. During the live stream, players are also given a special gift code for tuning in to the live stream. The chest code for this week is – scarowell. Use this code in the gift chest given to you in your in-game mailbox for some freebies (3 leifs and 300,000 Gold).
For this week’s patch, players are excited as a new specialty change was announced for the forgotten 3-Star Moonlight hero Arowell. After the specialty change, Arowell will transform into Unbound Knight Arowell and have an upgraded set of skills and abilities. Like all specialty changes, players will be required to complete some missions to unlock the different aspects of the Specialty change. Specialty Changes are usually implemented on heroes that have proven to be extremely weak compared to other similar heroes in the same tier. The new Guild War season titled Triumph will begin on 15th October 2022 to give all Guilds a renewed chance of showing their valor. Lastly, the special side story titled “Bloods and Roses” will be re-run with the festival of Halloween approaching. Let’s check all the new things coming to Epic Seven with the 13th October update.
Unbound Knight Arowell – New Specialty Change
Unbound Knight Arowell is the latest specialty change introduced to the game with the 13th October patch update in Epic Seven. Players can see an improved and renewed version of the 3-Star Light elemental hero Arowell with this specialty change. Specialty changes are an important part of Epic Seven as they not only change the entire appearance by remodeling the hero but also empower its abilities and base stats to rival that of the more premiere 5-Star heroes. The Specialty Change was expected to be dropped in September earlier but it was delayed till October. Nonetheless, Lua, a natural 5-Star Ice elemental hero that is classified as a Ranger type is being added to the game. The hero description of Unbound Knight Arowell reads the following – “While investigating a weird phenomenon in Wetheric Moor, Arowell faces a nightmare she had run away from long ago. However, she musters the courage to overcome her past fears and is granted the title of The Unbound Knight by Crozet. Currently, Arowell has temporarily left Doris’s side and traveling the world but has vowed to return to Doris soon.”
Unbound Knight Arowell’s skills are as follows: –

Special Side Story – Bloods and Roses
The special side story: Bloods and Roses will be scheduled to re-run after 20th October 2022 as told by the community managers in the patch preview live stream. As per the ongoing tradition, the special side stories run for 3 weeks instead of the usual 2 and offer some generous rewards. The occasion for this special side story re-run seems to be the festival of Halloween. The official description of the side story is as follows – “After meeting Melissa and learning about his true identity, Haste begins to recover memories of his childhood and grows confused. As the night that will blur the boundaries of life and death draws near, a dark shadow begins to loom over his fate…”
Players will be offered a complete event map for the side story through which they can navigate to where they need to travel. The entire event map is divided into multiple stages. Stages are divided into 3 distinct types:
- Story Stage – In these stages, players will be tasked to view the main storyline of the side story. These stages might or might not be associated with a battle sequence depending on the stage. In these stages, Melissa will be accompanying players in the battle as an NPC character. These stages will also have some additional conditions which are required to be fulfilled by the players in order to obtain extra premium currency. Players will also earn the event currency for this side story after they emerge victorious.
- Battle Stage – In these stages, players will be tasked to participate in and win battles against waves of enemies. These stages might also have certain conditions required to be fulfilled in order to obtain the premium currency. Some battle stages may also provide Melissa as an NPC hero that is mandatory to be taken into the battles. Players will earn event currency as well post the victory.
- Boss Stage – In these stages, players are required to defeat the boss monster that will come at the end of the waves of enemies. These stages provide players with a higher amount of event currency compared to regular battle stages. Boss stages are further divided into multiple difficulties to suit the level of players – Easy Difficulty/ Normal Difficulty/ Hard Difficulty/ Extreme Difficulty.
Players are required to have cleared at least Episode 1, Chapter 10 Stage 10 (Stage Minaret) to be able to access the side story. This special side story will be harboring 3 different types of event maps with each event map unlocking each week. The event currencies for the 3 maps are as follows – Old Taranor Coin, Wooden Doll Amulet, and Small Gargoyle Statue. Players are required to continuously grind and farm the event stages in order to obtain the event currency. Boss Stages are the best stages to farm event currency in any side story. 3 different exchange shops will be present throughout the event that offers the likes of MolaGora, Greater and Lesser Artifact Charms, Penguins, Epic, and Rare Catalysts, Giga Phantasms, Covenant Bookmarks, and Gold. Transit Stones and Leifs can also be obtained by clearing the different reputation missions thrown toward the players.
During this side story, if players use the heroes: Melissa, Haste, and Ervalen, then their stats will be increased in the following manner: Level 60/ Awakened to 6-Star/ +15 Enhanced Skills/Attack and Health increased by 30%.
