Epic Seven – New 3-Star Heroes, New Chapter 3, and New Graphical Media Update
Epic Seven is back with its scheduled bi-weekly update live streams on their official YouTube channel hosted by community managers Mashuu and Geguri. The popular turn-based RPG by Smilegate continuously releases new heroes and new content to look forward to along with fun events that last for 2 weeks. Apart from the look into what’s coming next, players can also get free currencies in the form of leifs and gold just by filling out surveys shared during the live streams or by inputting the code they give out on their live streams in your in-game mailbox chest to obtain the rewards.
This update was a heavy update and as the community managers said – “It was an 8/10”. The newest chapter titled Chapter 3 – West Prairie will be added to the Episode 4 main story of the game. Players can play and collect their adventure points after they have cleared Chapter 2 of Episode 4. New 3-star rarity heroes especially designed around the theme of Episode 4 are released. Players will be able to summon them after the maintenance ends and the game is updated on 6th January 2022. The 3rd week of the Special Side Story is also going to be available along with new banner rotations for new heroes. Let’s see what the update details are as well as the skills of the new heroes being released.
New 3-Star Heroes Explained
The new 3-Star heroes are introduced in the live stream hosted by community managers Mashuu and Geguri. The new heroes come in a bunch of 5 different 3-star heroes and follow the same design choices of an eastern theme like we have in Episode 4 of the main story. However, these new 3-Star heroes are very unique and strong. Here is the list of the heroes: –
- Yoonryoung (3-Star Light Knight)
- Januta (3-Star Fire Warrior)
- Orte (3-Star Earth Thief)
- Muwi (3-Star Ice Thief)
- Hasol (3-Star Dark Knight)
Yoonryung is a 3-star Light elemental Knight class hero coming to the game after an update on January 6th, 2022. Yoonryung is a great Knight unit that provides support and utility for all allies. However, being a 3-Star unit, her base stats are on the lower side compared to other higher rarity units. Players can increase their Health by using Imprint Concentration or increase all allies’ Attacks using her Imprint Release. Her 3rd skill Battle Cry is a supportive buffing skill that provides increased speed buff and immunity buff to all allies for 2 turns each. This skill can be soul burned to extend the duration of the buffs provided by this skill for 1 turn. Her 2nd skill Assault coordination is a single targeted damaging skill that also provides sustainability to all allies. It states that Yoonryung launched 4 different attacks on the selected enemy, then grants a barrier buff to all allies for 2 turns and increases combat readiness by 15% of all allies. The barrier strength is equal to the targets MAX HP. Her 1st skill Lunging Slash is a single targeted damaging skill that has a 65% chance to decrease Defense for 1 turn. When this skill is used during her turn, it will change to Dazzling Dash which is a single target damaging skill that applies Restrict for 1 turn to the enemy.
Her skills are as follows: –
Lunging Slash – Attacks the enemy, with a 65% chance to decrease Defense for 1 turn. When used on the caster’s turn, activates Dazzling Slash as an extra attack if the caster is buffed. Dazzling Dash: Swiftly attacks the enemy, inflicting restrict for 1 turn.
Assault Coordination – After attacking four times, grants a barrier to all allies for 2 turns and increases Combat Readiness by 15%. Barrier strength increases proportionally to the target’s max Health.
Battle Cry – Raises the morale of all allies, increasing Speed and granting immunity for 2 turns.
Januta is a 3-Star Fire elemental Warrior class hero coming to the game after an update on January 6th, 2022. Januta is a great Warrior class unit that has the potential to deal massive amounts of damage with his new mechanic called Enraged. Enraged is a form granted to Januta whenever allies take damage. Januta gains 10 fighting spirit stacks whenever an ally is hit and has a 25% chance to activate Hour of the Hunt. Hour of the Hunt grants Januta his Enraged mode while giving all allies an Increased Speed buff for 2 turns. This Hour of the Hunt can only be activated once per 2 turns. This is part of his 2nd skill Ruler of the Prairie which is a passive ability. Januta’s 3rd skill Shatter is a single targeted damaging ability that grants himself an Attack buff for 2 turns then proceeds to attack the enemy and inflicts a Decrease speed debuff for 2 turns. If Januta has his Enraged mode, this skill will ignore effect resistance. His 1st skill Rabid Strike is a single targeted damaging skill that deals increased damage to the enemy if Januta is in the Enraged mode. Players can increase their Critical Hit Chance by using Imprint Concentration or increase all allies’ Health using their Imprint Release.
His skills are as follows: –
Rabid Strike – Dashes towards the enemy to attack. When the caster is enraged, the damage dealt is increased.
Ruler of the Prairie – After an ally is attacked, the caster gains 10 Fighting Spirit per ally attacked and has a 25% chance to activate Hour of the Hunt. Hour of the Hunt can only be activated once every 2 turns. Hour of the Hunt: Increases Speed of all allies for 2 turns, and the caster becomes enraged for 2 turns.
Shatter – Attacks the enemy, decreasing Speed for 2 turns before increasing the Attack of the caster for 2 turns. When the caster is enraged, ignores Effect Resistance.
Orte is a 3-Star Earth elemental Thief class hero coming to the game after an update on January 6th, 2022. Orte is a great speed attacker-type unit that can deal massive damage according to her speed. Players can increase their Attacks by using Imprint Concentration or increase all allies’ Attack using her Imprint Release. Orte is a great unit for Speed contesting as her base speed is at a very high 125. Her 3rd skill No Mercy For The Weak is a single targeted damaging skill that can Penetrate the defense of the enemy by 30%. If Orte has higher Speed than the enemy, then the skill will deal damage by increasing the penetrating rate up to the maximum differential of the speed of both the caster and the enemy. The damage of this skill scales with Orte’s Speed. Her 2nd skill Overflowing Enthusiasm is a single targeted damaging ability that states Orte can get Perception buff for 1 turn if she uses this skill when she is at MAX Health. She will attack the enemy and if the selected enemy is not a Boss or Elite enemy, Orte will get an Increased Attack buff for 1 turn and will attack again using the same skill. However, effect after attacking can only be attacked once every 2 turns. Her 1st skill Vital Point Slash is also a single targeted damaging skill that deals more damage according to the speed of the caster.
Her skills are as follows: –
Vital Point Slash – Attacks the enemy with a sword. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s Speed.
Overflowing Enthusiasm – When the caster is at max Health at the start of the turn, grants perception to the caster for 1 turn. After attacking, if the caster has perception and when the enemy is not an Elite or Boss monster, increases the Attack of the caster for 1 turn and activates the same skill as an extra attack. The effect after attacking can only be activated once every 2 turns.
No Mercy For The Weak – Attacks the enemy with a swift sword storm. Penetrates the target’s Defense by 30%. When the Speed of the caster is greater than the Speed of the target, the penetration rate increases proportional to the difference, up to a maximum of 70%. Damage dealt increases proportional to the Speed of the caster.
Muwi is a 3-Star Ice elemental Thief class hero coming to the game after an update on January 6th, 2022. Muwi is a new unit that is expected to excel at Wyvern hunt because of her mechanics and the way she works. Players can increase their Effectiveness by using Imprint Concentration or increase all allies Health using her Imprint Release. Her 3rd skill Wind Cutter is an AOE targeted damaging ability that targets all enemies and deals damage to them while having a 50% chance to decrease their defense for 2 turns. This skill will also grant her an Increased Attack buff for 2 turns. Her 2nd skill Coldhearted Management is a passive ability. These passive states she will counterattack whenever an enemy attacks the foremost ally using her Blade Furry skill when all allies are Ice elemental heroes. She will also increase the combat readiness of all allies by 10%. Blade Furry will take priority over a basic skill when counterattacked and this skill can only be activated once every 2 turns. Blade Furry is a single targeted damaging skill that deals damage and has a 100% chance of inflicting a decreased Attack debuff for 2 turns. Her 1st skill Leap Strike is a single targeted damaging ability that has a 35% chance of inflicting Bleeding debuff for 2 turns.
Her skills are as follows: –
Leap Strike – Leaps to attack the enemy, with a 35% chance to inflict bleeding for 2 turns.
Cold-hearted Management (Passive) – After the foremost ally is attacked, counterattacks with Blade Flurry, and when all allies are ice elemental Heroes, increases Combat Readiness of all allies by 10%. Blade Flurry takes priority over a counterattack with a basic skill and can only be activated once every 2 turns. Blade Flurry: Attacks the enemy with a sword storm, decreasing Attack for 2 turns.
Wind Cutter – Attacks all enemies with a sword, with a 50% chance to decrease Defense for 2 turns. Increases Attack of the caster for 2 turns.
Hasol is a 3-Star Dark elemental Knight class hero coming to the game after update on January 6th, 2022. Hasol is an amazing upcoming unit that makes use of the fixed damage mechanic that we recently saw with Rimuru tempest during the That Time I Reincarnated As A Slime collaboration. Players can use her to counter some of the current meta which revolves around Counter based units like Violet, Belian, Rem, and Riolet. Players can increase her Health by using Imprint Concentration or increase all allies’ Defense using her Imprint Release. Hasol’s 3rd skill Punishing Strike is an AOE targeted damaging skill that targets all enemies and deals damage which scales with her MAX HP. She also grants Increased Defense buff to all allies for 3 turns while also granting herself an Increased Speed buff for 3 turns. This skill is on a base cooldown of 6 turns but can be reduced to 5 turns after skilling it up.
Her 2nd skill Blade of Vengeance is a passive ability that states after enemy counterattacks, she will get a 20% combat readiness increase as well as additional 1000 fixed damage on her 1st skill Swift Cut. This fixed damage can stack up to a maximum of 4 times, hence, 4000 additional fixed damage. Her 1st skill Swift Cut is a single targeted damaging ability that deals damage that scales with her MAX HP to the targeted enemy while also recovering some of the health. It will also deal fixed damage equal to 500 regardless of whether the attack hits or misses.
Her skills are as follows: –
Swift Cut – Attacks the enemy, before recovering Health of the caster. When used on the caster’s turn, additionally inflicts 500 fixed damage regardless of whether the attack hits. Damage dealt and the amount recovered increase proportional to the caster’s max Health.
Blade of Vengeance (Passive) – After an enemy counterattack, increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 20% and increases the fixed damage of Swift Cut by 1000. The fixed damage increase effect can be stacked up to 4 times.
Punishing Strike – Attacks all enemies with a secret skill, before increasing Defense of all allies for 3 turns, and increasing the Speed of the caster for 3 turns. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s max Health.
Chapter 3 – West Prairie
The newest chapter in Episode 4 main story is titled “West Prairie” and continues the adventure of Adin. The description of the new chapter reads – “With Taeyou and the Summer Sword both in the hands of Zahhak, Ras and companions part ways with Ran and head for the Prairie, where the Autumn Sword can be found. Upon reaching their location, they meet Arunka, queen of the Prairie. But they soon face difficulties as a result of an aversion to outsiders and a civil war between Suins.”
