Overview of Winterlands: Aurora Event

A brand-new winter themed event titled “Winterlands: Aurora” can already be seen live in-game at the time of writing. This event brings hefty snow, beautiful auroras, and crystallized essences to the map of Bermuda. The entire map is re-hauled to reflect the changes in the weather. The additions of Frosty tracks make the gameplay much more exciting as players can take these tunnels to quick travel across locations on the map. Fuelling more strategy to your games, the entire map of Bermuda has spawned Coin machines that give out unique Aurora buffs to players.

Frosty Track

In Bermuda, Frosty Tracks are installed at Peak, Katulistiwa, the Clock Tower, and the Factory. These tracks let players to quickly navigate between locations and conduct actions such as shooting, turning, accelerating, decelerating, and throwing while on the rails.  There are special coin machines on the tracks that give out 188 FF Coins each. Players can acquire them while gliding.

Aurora Event

The aurora affects some Coin Machines on the map, which are marked on the minimap and have a specific aurora effect. To progress the Aurora Event, interact with the Coin Machines that have been affected by the Aurora. Complete the event quest by interacting with two aurora-affected Coin Machines, which will offer a bonus to all teammates. (Event progress can be shared with teammates in Duo and Squad modes.) Depending on the color of the aurora, players can earn one of three types of boosts in each match:

  • Green Aurora: Restores 2 EP per second.
  • Red Aurora: Armor penetration increased by 50%
  • Blue Aurora: Gloo maker will receive 0.5 extra EP per second.

Frosty Machine

In Bermuda, players will find 3 distinct types of Frosty machines that will be marked on the mini-map. Each type of machine gives out different types of resources and rewards when operated. Check them out:

  • Ice Box

After interacting, the Ice Box will continue to deliver loot, including weapons, Med Kits, armor, and skill cards. Loot drops every 35 seconds, with the final loot drop occurring at a 65-second period, for a total of 33 seconds. The value of the prize increases over time. An Ice Box can only be used once.

  • Ice Jeep Spawn-point

Following interaction, an event-exclusive vehicle will be created on the spot. Passengers can shoot from the vehicle (no aim aid). The vehicle has 1000 horsepower with a top speed of 45 m/s. Cooldown: 355 seconds.

  • Ice Radar

Interacting with the map’s Ice Radars provides players with information on the number of foes nearby. The minimap will indicate the number of adversaries as a value, but not their specific locations. Cooldown: 30 seconds. This feature will be available alongside the Winterlands event.
