The Sand Devil’s Necropolis Dungeon and Artifact Ascension Coming to RAID: Shadow Legends
RAID: Shadow Legends has been hit with a sandstorm! Al Naemeh, the deadly dweller within the Sand Devil’s Necropolis has awakened and is ready to rumble in Teleria. Calling all raiders, the newest update preview posted by Plarium on the game’s official YouTube channel has been going viral among the community as it gears for the newest dungeon coming to the turn-based RPG loved by millions worldwide. RAID: Shadow Legends is available to be downloaded as a free-to-play game on both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store.
The newest dungeon titled “The Sand Devil’s Necropolis” is going to be added in the live version of the game with the next patch that marks the end of the year for RAID: Shadow Legends. Along with the dungeon comes a brand new boss that possesses deadly rodents that will pierce your skin and rot your flesh. Sounds creepy and spooky? Well, the design of the boss speaks much louder than words. New mechanics by the boss, named Al Naemeh, will be one of the most astonishing things that players will be confused about. A new resource called Oil is also going to be added to the game and will only be acquired through clearing the Sand Devil’s Necropolis dungeon. What is this Oil going to be used for you ask? Artifact Ascension! A brand-new way of making your artifacts even more powerful. There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get right into the details for the upcoming content in RAID: Shadow Legends.
The Sand Devil’s Necropolis – New Dungeon
The Sand Devil’s Necropolis dungeon is going to be the newest content being made available to the players with the last one being the Hydra Clan Boss quite some time ago. Of course, this new dungeon is going to come with its own set of mechanics and resources that will differentiate it from the rest. The Sand Devil’s Necropolis is not going to be an artifact/gear grinding dungeon but more of a resource dungeon just like we have the Minotaur’s Labyrinth and Affinity Keeps. The resource that it will be providing to all players is going to be Oil. The oil comes in different rarities and different quantities.
Compare it to the likes of Potions that come in differing rarities. The rarities of the Oil are as follows:
- Lesser Oil (Used for Ascension Levels 1 and 2)
- Greater Oil (Used for Ascension Levels 3 and 4)
- Superior Oil (Used for Ascension Levels 5 and 6)
As usual with these resource dungeons, the higher the stage of you are fighting, the more chances you have of obtaining Superior Oil. The initial floors will only supply Lesser and Greater Oil. The Sand Devil’s Necropolis consists of 25 distinct floors with the Al-Naemeh being the boss in each of them. Of course, the difficulty level increases as you climb the higher floors of the dungeon.
Take a look at the active and passive skills of Al-Naemeh, the boss of the Sand Necropolis dungeon:
Rest of the Wicked (Passive Skill)
Al-Naemeh is immune to receiving all debuffs except [Sleep]. Also immune to HP exchange effects, HP balancing effects, cooldown increasing effects, Turn Meter reduction effects, and debuff duration increasing effects.
When under a [Sleep] debuff, Al-Naemeh is only immune to receiving [Stun], [Freeze], [Provoke], [Block Active Skills], [Block Passive Skills], [Fear], [True Fear], and [Petrification] debuffs. as well as HP exchange effects, HP balancing effects, and cooldown increasing effects.
Decreases incoming damage from enemy skills by 25% on stages 1-5, by 50% on stages 6-15, and 75% on stages 16-25.
This innate damage reduction is decreased by 10% for each debuff that Al-Naemeh is currently under.
Soul Sustenance (Passive Skill)
Whenever Al-Naemeh attacks, destroys the MAX HP of all targets by 10%.
Whenever an enemy decreases Al-Naemah’s Turn Meter, destroys the MAX HP of that enemy by the same percentage.
Whenever Al-Naemeh is under a [Sleep] debuff and an enemy Champion is healed, restores a portion of that Champion’s MAX HP. The amount restored is equal to the value of the heal.
Rage of the Sands (Active Skill)
Attacks all enemies. Places a 30% [Decrease SPD] debuff and a 50% [Decrease ACC] debuff on all enemies for 2 turns.
Dune Tempest (Active Skill)
Removes all debuffs from Al-Naemeh, then heals him. The amount healed is proportional to the total amount of destroyed MAX HP on the enemy team.
After healing, attacks all enemies.
The damage this skill inflicts decreases for each removed debuff.
Feasting Swarm (Active Skill)
Attacks all enemies, Ignores [Shield], [Block Damage], and [Unkillable] buffs, as well as 100% of the target’s DEF.
After attacking, places a [Sleep] debuff on Al-Naemeh for 2 turns.
Passive Effect
Increases the current cooldown of this skill by 1 turn whenever a [Sleep] debuff is placed on Al-Naemeh by enemies.
Artifact Ascension
Artifact Ascension is a brand-new feature coming to RAID: Shadow Legends that will help players take the power of their account to another level by increasing the overall stats of their artifacts. The artifacts that are going to be eligible for ascension have to meet the requirements of being at least 4 stars ranked in terms of grade and Level 12 in terms of upgraded value.
The rarity of the artifact is irrelevant. Players can even ascend common grade artifacts, provided that they meet the requirements. As players will ascend their artifacts, they will notice a host of changes:
- The stats on your ascended artifact will be highlighted in different colors according to the number of ascensions being done.
- The stars on your artifact will change to purple from gold according to the number of ascensions made.
- Ascending artifacts only consume Oil to ascend and not any Silver.
- The 1st level of an Artifact ascension grants the artifact a bonus stat. Further levels on the same artifact increase the value of this stat.
- Each artifact type has a pre-determined pool of extra stats that can be applied to the artifact after the ascension. These will be disclosed in a more efficient manner after the official patch notes are released.
- Players cannot re-roll or revert the artifact once it is ascended.
- Players cannot re-roll the bonus stat to one of their choices at the moment of introduction for this feature.
Interesting stuff coming to RSL, won’t you agree? Make sure to comment down your thoughts regarding the new changes and the new dungeon. Will it add to the overgrowing burden of power creep in the game or will it solve the issue of players being stuck in a progression loop? Only time will tell.
We highly recommend playing RAID: Shadow Legends on a PC with BlueStacks using a keyboard and mouse.
