Tower of Fantasy – New Simulacrum Ruby and Lin coming with Version 2.0
The wait is finally over! Version 2.0 of Tower of Fantasy is just around the corner while the community is excited to explore the new content coming with the expansion. The scheduled date of Update 2.0 is disclosed as 20th October 2022. While the official patch notes are still not released for the global version, the 2 new Simulacrums and their abilities can be seen below.
Ruby – New SSR Simulacrum
Ruby is an SSR Flame elemental Simulacrum who is listed as a DPS type in the game. She is the incarnation of the weapon “Sparky”. In this article, we will enlist the various skills, passives, and awakening traits Ruby has while explaining each of them in real-time combat.
Ruby Skills and Passives
Ruby’s basic attacks like a majority of other Tower of Fantasy Simulacrum are divided into 6 types of attacks – Normal/ Basic Attack, Jump Attack, Jump Hold Attack, Normal Hold Attack, Crouch Attack, and Dodge Attack. All of these attacks can further be used in combination to perfect their execution and deal more damage in a lesser amount of time. These moves can be combined as well to give rise to ultra-powerful combos that deal huge damage.
Ruby’s basic attacks and combos that we mentioned before are divided into the following – Normal/ Basic Attack, Jump Attack, Jump Hold Attack, Normal Hold Attack, Double Hold Attack, and Dodge Attack.
Spark Attack (Normal/Basic Attack)
Click on the basic attack while on the ground, and control Sparky to attack 5 times in a row.
- Deal damage equal to 84.6% of ATK + 4 to each target.
- Deal damage equal to 94% of ATK + 5 to each target.
- Deal damage equal to 101.5% of ATK + 5 to each target.
- Deal damage equal to 109.9% of ATK + 6 to each target.
- Deal damage equal to 253.7% of ATK + 13 to each target and suspends them.
Aerial Attack (Jump Attack)
While airborne, tap basic attack to attack with Sparky 4 times in a row.
- Deal damage equal to 97.1% of ATK + 5 to each target.
- Deal damage equal to 106.8% of ATK + 6 to each target.
- Deal damage equal to 121.3% of ATK + 6 to each target.
- Deal damage equal to 145.6% of ATK + 8 to each target.
Gotcha! (Normal Hold Attack)
Hold normal attack, or Hold normal attack after triggering Imprisonment Cage to continuously shoot out a flame beam, dealing damage equal to 40% of ATK + 2 to targets in your direction, while consuming stamina.
Falling Flames (Jump Hold Attack)
Hold your basic attack while in the air to trigger Falling Flames.
Wrapped in an energy body, it quickly falls to the ground, dealing 172.1% of ATK + 9 damage to surrounding targets.
Imprisonment Cage (Double Hold Attack)
Press and hold attack after the second basic attack, dealing damage equal to 40% of ATK + 2 to the target, locking the target (not strong control) and burning for 3 seconds, dealing damage equal to 26.2% of ATK + 1 per second (does not apply to bosses).
Dolly (Dodge Attack)
Attack after dodging to throw Dolly, which lasts for 10 seconds and attracts nearby enemies, dealing damage equal to 84.6% of ATK + 4 and taunting the enemy for 1.5 seconds (taunting does not work in group play). Taunted enemies will target Dolly.
FLAME RESONANCE (ELEMENTAL PASSIVE)
When equipped with 2 or more Flame weapons, increase Flame ATK by 20% and Flame Resistance by 40%, taking effect in the background.
FLAME (PASSIVE)
Fully charged weapons will set the target on fire for 8 seconds with the next attack, causing ongoing damage of 58.00% of ATK every second. Ignited targets receive 50% efficacy from healing.
Sparky Crash (1st Active Ability)
Sparky shoots a [spark] forward for 15 seconds, bouncing between the target and the player and slowing the target’s movement and attack speed for 4 seconds, the cooldown of 15 seconds.
The farther the distance, the higher the damage, up to 700% of ATK + 37 damage. Applies the [Hot] mark for 25 seconds, and releases 4 bullets, each dealing 50% of ATK + 3 damage to the target.
Sparky’s basic attack damage to the target marked by [Hot] increases to 110%. If the target is affected by a burn inflicted by you, when [Spark] hits, trigger a burn or ignite additional damage of 100% of the remaining total damage (multiple burns or burns are combined), the cooldown is 6 seconds, and the skill cooldown is 30 seconds.
Passive: During the existence of [Spark], every time Sparky’s basic attack deals 1 damage, gain 1 stack of [Heat Energy], up to one every 0.9 seconds, up to a maximum of 8 stacks. At max stacks, gain [Ultimate Heat Energy], increasing Flame ATK by 25% for 25 seconds.
Supernova Explosion (Weapon Discharge Skill)
When the weapon charge is full or Phantasia is triggered, switch to this weapon to clear all debuffs from the user. Sparky turns on the charging form, continuously shoots a large-area flame beam forward, and explodes at the end, dealing 750% of ATK + 39 points of damage; if the target is affected by a burn inflicted by you, ignite the burn, dealing damage equal to 100% of the remaining total damage (combined for multiple burns or ignitions). During the 6-second cooldown period, the skill is immune to damage for 2.6 seconds (does not apply in Apex League).
Ruby Awakening Traits
Awakening Traits are unlocked for all Simulacrums when you gift them their most valuable possessions. After gifting, the Simulacrum gets Recollection points as a form of reward. When the Recollection points reach a certain threshold, they provide you with advancements. Here are the advancements for Ruby:
- Flame Catcher (Unlocks at 1200 Awakening) – Enemies within 5 meters of Dolly receive 8% more Flame damage, do not stack.
- Engulfed in Flames (Unlocks at 4000 Awakening) – Enemies within 5 meters of Dolly receive 8% more Flame damage and do not stack. After throwing Dolly, increase Flame ATK by 12% for 10 seconds, does not stack.
Ruby Advancements
Players can easily advance their characters by using the fusion core of the same weapon. The catch is that the fusion cores can only be accessed by summoning a duplicate of the weapon from the gacha recruitment banners. Players can also get 1 copy of the weapon from the Weapon Store after obtaining at least 1 copy of Ruby. Ruby’s advancements are as follows: –
1st Advancement (A1)
[Scorching Heat] Increases Sparky’s basic attack damage to 182%. Weapon Skill cooldown reduced to 24 seconds.
2nd Advancement (A2)
Increase the current weapon’s base ATK growth by 16%.
3rd Advancement (A3)
[Scorching Heat] Incidental fire damage increased by 18%; the scorch settlement multiplier increased to 150%.
4th Advancement (A4)
Increase the current weapon’s base HP growth by 32%.
5th Advancement (A5)
Each time Sparky’s basic attack hits an enemy unit 75 weapon charge is restored, and the cooldown is 0.9 seconds. During [Ultimate Heat], Shatter is increased by 25%.
6th Advancement (A6)
[Scorching Heat] Increases Sparky’s basic attack damage to 240% and doubles the effectiveness of [Heat]. Weapon Skill cooldown reduced to 16 seconds.
Ruby Matrice Recommendations
Let’s check out the Matrices that are recommended to be used for Ruby: –
Ruby (4-Set Matrice) – After releasing the weapon skill, gain Mastery for 15 seconds, and cool down for 15 seconds. While Mastery is active, successful basic attacks increase Flame damage by 4%/5%/6%/7%, up to 6 stacks, with a cooldown of 0.2 seconds between stacks. At 6 stacks, gain a shield to resist damage 1 time. Mastery cannot be stacked, and different levels of mastery share cooldown.
Samir (2-Set Matrice) – Increase damage progressively by 1% upon hitting a target. Stack up to 10/13/16/20 times. Lasts 1.5 seconds.

Lin is an SSR Aberration elemental Simulacrum who is listed as a DPS type in the game. She is the incarnation of the weapon “Shadow Weaver”. In this article, we will enlist the various skills, passives, and awakening traits Lin has while explaining each of them in real-time combat.
Lin Skills and Passives
Lin’s basic attacks like a majority of other Tower of Fantasy Simulacrum are divided into 6 types of attacks – Normal/ Basic Attack, Jump Attack, Jump Hold Attack, Normal Hold Attack, Crouch Attack, and Dodge Attack. Normal Attack (Normal/Basic Attack)
While on the ground, use Shadow Weaver to perform 5 attacks.
- Deal damage equal to 59.9% of ATK + 3.
- Deal damage equal to 57.1% of ATK + 3.
- Deal damage equal to 49.5% of ATK + 3.
- Deal damage equal to 114.2% of ATK + 6.
- Deal damage equal to 152.2% of ATK + 8.
Air Strike (Jump Attack)
While airborne, tap basic attack 5 times to perform consecutive attacks in the air.
- Deal damage equal to 30.6% of ATK + 2.
- Deal damage equal to 55.6% of ATK + 3.
- Deal damage equal to 48.2% of ATK + 3.
- Deal damage equal to 111.2% of ATK + 6.
- Deal damage equal to 148.3% of ATK + 8.
Mud Scatter (Attack Hold Attack)
After the second basic attack on the ground or in the air, hold the basic attack to trigger mud scatter.
Launch an attack at the target location, dealing damage equal to 83.2% of ATK + 4 and knocking the target down.
Passive: Quickly click the basic attack after mud scatters to perform a fully charged Short-lived.
Short-lived (Normal Hold Attack)
Hold the basic attack to release a Short-lived, can be charged up to three stages, gaining immunity to control effects while charging.
- The first stage deals damage equal to 73.9% ATK + 4.
- The second stage deals damage equal to 146.2% of ATK + 8.
- The third stage deals damage equal to 246.2% of ATK + 13.
Falling Shadow (Jump Hold Attack)
Falling quickly from the air, dealing damage equal to 160% of ATK + 8 and knocking down targets.
Just Leave Greenery (Dodge Attack)
Launch an attack on the target while dodging mid-air, dealing damage equal to 70% of ATK + 4. The hit generates 1-3 Nightblooms and forms a field that lasts for 5 seconds that reduces enemy movement speed by 50%.
Passive: can be used on the ground or in the air.
Passive: When under control effects, immediately break out and cast the field (automatically use a dodge attack without consuming dodge count), cooldown 20 seconds.
ABERRATION (PASSIVE)
When the weapon is fully charged, the next attack will leave a mark on the enemy that explodes after 5 seconds. The explosion deals 25% of the damage dealt during the marked period, up to 560% of ATK. Only one mark can exist at a time.
WEAPON MASTERY (PASSIVE)
Activate Weapon Mastery when used with other weapons. Nightblooms will randomly appear around the target and explode within 1-3 seconds, dealing 60% AoE damage.
MOONLIGHT REALM (1st Active Ability)
A Moonlight Realm of the moon is formed around you for 15 seconds. In the Realm, gain a 10% damage bonus, you can double jump multiple times, gain 20% increased jumping ability, and reduce stamina consumption by 50% (cooldown 30 seconds).
When using Shadow Weaver inside Moonlight Realm, enter the state of “Cold Air”, where your falling speed is greatly reduced. Jumping while moving in a direction will allow you to perform a shuttle and launch an attack dealing 66% of ATK + 3 and spawn 1-3 Nightblooms.
Passive: Inside Moonlight Realm, a Nightbloom will be generated near a target every 0.8 seconds.
Passive: When using Shadow Weaver inside Moonlight Realm, increase damage by 50% against targets with less than 20% HP.
Passive: When using Shadow Weaver inside Moonlight Realm, teleport away from the target when you are about to take damage, and cooldown 10 seconds.
When paired with two Flame weapons, Moonlight Realm is transformed into a Flame Moonlight Realm. While inside the Realm, any burn effects applied will have their duration extended by 4 seconds and increase flame damage to shielded targets by 15%.
When paired with two Volt weapons, Moonlight Realm is transformed into a Thunder Moonlight Realm. In the Realm, dodges have a 65% chance of not being consumed and dodge attacks deal 35% more damage. When using Volt Resonance, increase Volt damage by 30%.
When paired with two Frost weapons, Moonlight Realm is transformed into an Ice Moonlight Realm. When enemies in the Realm receive frost damage 10 times, they enter a state of frostbite for 15 seconds, receiving 22% more frost damage. The number of hits to activate frostbite does not accumulate while the enemy is in the frostbite state.
When paired with two Physical weapons, Moonlight Realm is transformed into a Physical Moonlight Realm. When there is an active life shield in the Realm, deal damage equal to 150% of ATK + 8 every second.
When paired with two weapons of different elements, gain 15% attack for all elements while inside the Realm (considered as activating elemental resonances for flame, volt, frost, and physical).
Gravity Weave (Weapon Discharge Skill)
When a weapon is fully charged or triggers Phantasia, switching to this weapon from another weapon removes all debuffs from the wielder and releases a gravity field with a strong pull, dealing damage equal to 542% of ATK + 29. After 5 seconds, the gravity field explodes in a wide diffusion wave, dealing 271% of ATK + 14 damage. During the discharge animation, become immune to damage for 2.6 seconds (does not take effect in Apex League).
Lin Awakening Traits
Awakening Traits are unlocked for all Simulacrums when you gift them their most valuable possessions. After gifting, the Simulacrum gets Recollection points as a form of reward. When the Recollection points reach a certain threshold, they provide you with advancements. Here are the advancements for Lin:
- Explosive (Unlocks at 1200 Awakening) – Nightbloom’s explosion damage increased by 15%
- Corrupted Darkness (Unlocks at 4000 Awakening) – Nightbloom’s explosion damage increased by 20%. Nightbloom explosions reduce all elemental resistances of the affected targets by 7% for 7 seconds. This effect cannot stack.
Lin Advancements
Players can easily advance their characters by using the fusion core of the same weapon. Players need to summon these fusion cores by obtaining a duplicate of the Simulacrum from the gacha system. Players can also get 1 copy of the weapon from the Weapon Store after obtaining at least 1 copy of Lin. Lin’s advancements are as follows: –
1st Advancement (A1)
Normal attacks deal AoE damage. When Nightblooms are within an explosion range of each other, increase the damage of subsequent explosions by 10% each (up to 50%). Moonlight Realm reduces the spawn time of Nightblooms to 0.5 seconds.
2nd Advancement (A2)
Increase the current weapon’s base ATK growth by 16%.
3rd Advancement (A3)
Moonlight Realm reduces the spawn time of Nightblooms to 0.3 seconds. Nightblooms now attach to enemy targets. The duration of the Moonlight Realm is increased to 20 seconds.
4th Advancement (A4)
Increase the current weapon’s base HP growth by 32%.
5th Advancement (A5)
While inside Moonlight Realm, gain 30 weapon charges per second and increase the damage of discharge skills by 15%.
6th Advancement (A6)
Moonlight Realm can be activated up to 2 times. Gain 1 charge from the skill cooldown. Gain 1 charge from using discharge skills 3 times (effective in the background). The damage bonus while inside Moonlight Realm is increased to 15%.
Lin Matrice Recommendations

Lin (4-Set Matrice) – Traveling 5 meters within Moonlight Realm will grant 1 stack of [Moon’s Realm], increasing your total damage by 7%/8.3%/9.6%/11% for 15 seconds, stacking up to 3 times. The effect is active in the background. If multiple sets are used, only the highest star set will take effect.
Lin (2-Set Matrice) – Successful attacks increase your attack power by 3%/3.7%/4.3%/5% for 18 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. If multiple sets are used, only the highest star set will take effect.
