Tower of Fantasy – New Simulacrum Frigg and Road of Strife
Tower of Fantasy by HOTTA Studio has been the fan favorite among gacha and MMORPG genre lovers as the game definitely lived up to its expectations during the global launch. Tower of Fantasy developers have already stated their desires to speed run the global server and catch up to its Chinese counterpart which was released 6 months prior to the global version. The Version 2.0 update announcement was recently shared by the developers on the game’s official social media handles. Apart from the new update, a continuous release of new Simulacrums is planned to keep the players entertained! In the new update coming on 1st September 2022, players will be able to summon and use the newest Simulacrum coming to Tower of Fantasy – Frigg, the manifestation of Balmung weapon.
Frigg is an SSR Ice elemental character who is listed as a DPS type in the game. In this article, we will enlist the various skills, passives, and awakening traits Frigg has while explaining each of them in real-time combat. We will also be mentioning the details of the Road of Strife event that is shared by the developers in the official patch notes for the update coming on 1st September 2022.
Frigg Skills and Passives
Frigg’s basic attacks like a majority of other Tower of Fantasy Simulacrum are divided into 5 types of attacks – Normal/ Basic Attack, Jump Attack, Jump Hold Attack, Hold Attack and Perfect Dodge Attack. All of these attacks can further be used in combination to perfect their execution and deal more damage in a lesser amount of time. They can also be combined for some amazing chain combos.
Frigg’s basic attacks and combos that we mentioned before are divided into the following – Normal/ Basic Attack, Jump Attack, Jump Hold Attack, Hold Attack, and Perfect Dodge Attack.
Normal/Basic Attack
- Initiate 5 attacks in a row with Balmun when on the ground.
- First Attack: Deal damage equal to 62.1% of ATK + 3 and knock the target back a short distance.
- Second Attack: Deal damage equal to 46.2% of ATK + 2 and knock the target back a short distance.
- Third Attack: Deal damage equal to 91.1% of ATK + 5 and knock the target back a short distance.
- Fourth Attack: Deal damage equal to 55.8% of ATK + 3 and knock the target back a short distance.
- Fifth Attack: Deal damage equal to 218.4% of ATK + 11 and knock down the target.
Aerial Discharge (Jump Attack)
- While airborne or after jumping once, tap normal attack to attack 5 times in a row.
- First Attack: Deal damage equal to 64.4% of ATK + 3.
- Second Attack: Deal damage equal to 72.6% of ATK + 4.
- Third Attack: Deal damage equal to 76.7% of ATK + 4.
- Fourth Attack: Deal damage equal to 107.9% of ATK + 6.
- Fourth Attack: Deal damage equal to 168.3% of ATK + 9.
Soaring Slash (Normal Hold Attack)
While normal attacking, hold normal attack to trigger Soaring Slash.
Lunge forward with a horizontal swipe, then launch the target into the air before soaring up with the target. Deal a maximum of 134.3% of ATK + 7 damage.
Helix Slash (Jump Hold Attack)
Tap and hold a normal attack while airborne (or tap when a target is selected), or tap a normal attack while climbing, jumping backward, or using the Jetpack to trigger Helix Slash.
While falling, deal damage equal to 19.8% of ATK + 1 each hit. Upon landing, deal damage equal to 185.7% of ATK + 10 to nearby targets.
Multislash (Perfect Dodge Attack)
Tap normal attack during the short perfect dodge window to trigger Multislash.
Unleash multiple slashes at a set distance in front of the user, dealing total damage equal to 143.9% of ATK + 8.
Frigg’s basic attacks can significantly be helpful in tricky situations as she knocks back enemies for a specific duration of time. These attacks hit for 5 times, with each time the attack dealing more damage and knocking back enemies.
FROST RESONANCE (ELEMENTAL PASSIVE)
Increase frost ATK by 15% and frost resistance by 25%. Active by equipping 2 or more frost weapons. This set’s effects also work with weapons in the off-hand slot. This effect does not stack.
ICY SHELL (ELEMENTAL PASSIVE)
Fully charged weapons will freeze the target for 2 seconds and leave it frostbitten for 6 seconds. Breaking the ice shell causes additional damage equal to 111% of ATK. While frostbitten, the target’s weapon charge rate is reduced by 50%.
Fimbulwinter (1st Active Ability)
Slash the space around the Wanderer, dealing total damage equal to 577.5% of ATK + 30. Can suspend and launch targets, and grant damage immunity while this skill is in use. 30-second cooldown.
After unleashing “Fimbulwinter”, a large frost domain will be formed around you for 25 seconds. The number of dodges you can perform will not be deducted when you perform the Balmung dodge within the frost domain.
Grant “Domain of Frost I” when you are in the frost domain and increase shatter by 25% when using a frost weapon.
Frigid Fracture (Weapon Discharge Skill)
When a weapon charge is full or Phantasia is triggered, clear all debuffs from the user and dash forward upon switching to this weapon, temporarily controlling opponents in an area before unleashing a gigantic slash. Deal damage equal to 618.2% of ATK + 33 and launch enemies into the air.
Frigg Awakening Traits
Awakening Traits are unlocked for all Simulacrums when you gift them their most valuable possessions. After gifting, the Simulacrum get Recollection points as a form of reward. When the Recollection points reach a certain threshold, they provide you with advancements. Here are the advancements for Frigg:
- Freeze (Unlocks at 1200 Awakening) – Increase frost ATK by 1.5% every 3 seconds upon entering battle. Stack up to 10 times. Lasts for 5 seconds.
- Icebound (Unlocks at 4000 Awakening) – Frost ATK is boosted by 2.4% every 3 seconds upon entering combat. Stack up to 10 times. Lasts for 5 seconds. In addition, gain hyper body and become immune to control effects in the Frost Domain.
Frigg Advancements
Players can easily advance their characters by using the fusion core of the same weapon. The catch is that the fusion cores can only be accessed by summoning a duplicate of the weapon from the gacha recruitment banners. Players can also get 1 copy of the weapon from the Weapon Store after obtaining at least 1 copy of Frigg. Frigg’s advancements are as follows: –
1st Advancement (A1)
Gain 1 frostiness point every time you deal 550% x Frost ATK of damage in the Frost Domain.
Up to 10 frost points can be accumulated.
When Frost Domain ends, frostiness points x Frost ATK x 95% of blast damage will be dealt to all enemies in the Frost Domain. After leaving the Frost Domain, lose 1 frostiness point every 3 seconds.
2nd Advancement (A2)
Increase the current weapon’s base HP growth by 16%.
3rd Advancement (A3)
Increase frostiness limit to 15. When using discharge skills of frost weapons in the frost domain, deal damage equal to 20% of Frost ATK x (current frostiness + 5) to all the targets in the frost domain.
4th Advancement (A4)
Increase the current weapon’s base ATK growth by 32%.
5th Advancement (A5)
Shattering shields using frost weapons in the Frost Domain will freeze the target for 2 seconds and cause frostiness points x Frost ATK x 35% of additional damage (if the target cannot be frozen, double the additional damage dealt).
6th Advancement (A6)
When frostiness reaches 15 points and you are in the Frost Domain, you will get an additional “Domain of Frost II” that increases Frost ATK by 12% when frost weapons are used.
Frigg Matrice Recommendations
Let’s check out the Matrices that are recommended to be used for Frigg: –
Frigg (2-Set Matrice) – When switching from a frost weapon to another frost weapon, Frost ATK is increased by 15%/18%/21%/25% for 10 seconds. Only the highest level’s effect is applied when obtained repeatedly.
Frigg (4-Set Matrice) – When using Frozen Domain, enemies within the domain take 60%/75%/90%/105% of Frost ATK every second.
Samir (2-Set Matrice) – Deal more damage upon hitting a target, each time by 1.5%, up to 10/13/16/20 stacks. Buff stacking time: 2 seconds.
Samir (4-Set Matrice) – Each attack onto locked-on targets deals extra damage equal to 10%/12.5%/15%/17.5% of ATK.
Road of Strife Series of Events
The Road of Strife is going to be starting on 1st September 2022 and ends on 15th September 2022, spanning over a duration of 2 weeks. Players who have unlocked Rewards and are above Level 21, Interstellar Exploration Level 21, and Apex League Level 31 are permitted to enter the event. Here are some key takeaways to note for the event:
- The entire event will be divided into 3 different phases – Orienteering, Stellarway Diligence, and Mega Arena. Players can visit each of these phases as they open up simultaneously.
- Upon fighting and clearing the enemies, players will be able to earn a new event currency called Star Grit. The daily maximum limit is set at 1200 Star Grit.
- Players can exchange their collected Star Grits in the Event Shop that opens in phases as well. The Event Shop features juicy rewards like Vehicle: Mechbird parts, red nucleus, and weapon augmentation box.
- The Orienteering event starts from 12:00 to 23:00 (server time) every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
- The Doubles Mega Arena starts from 03:00, September 8th (UTC+0). (Please refer to this announcement and ignore the in-game descriptions.
