Wuthering Waves Version 1.4 When the Night Knocks – New Resonators, Weapons, and Events
Wuthering Waves continues to carry the hype post it’s half year anniversary with the latest update 1.4 titled as “When the Night Knocks”. The update and its contents can already be seen live in-game as it was released on 14th November, 2024. Players can summon and recruit 2 new resonators – Camellya and Lumi. Of course, their special weapons are also going to be added and up for grabs in new weapon banners. A host of new events are also scheduled to run for the next 2 weeks to keep the players entertained. Check out all the new stuff below!
Camellya – New 5-Star Resonator
Camellya is a 5-Star resonator from the Havoc faction who uses the Sword as her primary weapon. Check out her skills:
- Basic attack – Perform up to five consecutive attacks that deliver Havoc DMG. After completing Basic Attack Stage 3 or Heavy Attack Pruning, hold the Normal Attack Button to continually attack the target, dealing Havoc DMG.
- Crimson Blossom – Attack the victim, dealing Havoc DMG (basic attack DMG), and then enter Blossom Mode. This attack can be executed in mid-air. Unable to move in Blossom Mode. Basic and Heavy Attacks Pruning has been replaced by the Basic Attack Vining Waltz, which involves chaining together four successive hits that deal Havoc DMG and are called Basic Attack DMG.
- Twining (Outro Skill) – Attack the target, dealing Havoc DMG worth 329.24% of Camellya’s ATK. After using Forte Circuit’s Ephemeral, the following Outro Skill Twining deals additional Havoc DMG equal to 459.02% of Camellya’s ATK.
- Vegetative Universe (Passive Skill) – Normal Attack, Basic Attack Vining Waltz, Basic Attack Blazing Waltz, Basic Attack Vining Ronde, Dodge Counter Atonement, Resonance Skill Crimson Blossom, and Resonance Skill Floral Ravage all devour Crimson Pistils when used on a target. The Energy Regen Multiplier of this attack has been boosted by 150%.
Lumi – New 4-Star Resonator
Lumi is a 4-Star resonator from the Electro faction who uses the Broadblade as her primary weapon. Check out her skills:
- Basic attack – Summon Squeakie to fire three shots in a succession, delivering Electro DMG.
- Yellow Light – Dodge to Sprint and enter Zoom Mode, which automatically fires Glitters at a locked-on target and deals Electro DMG. The damage inflicted is considered Basic Attack DMG.
- Forte Circuit: Signal Light (Outro Skill) – When Yellow Light Spark has completely recovered, replace Resonance Skill with Resonance Skill Energized Pounce, which delivers Electro DMG, and enter Red Spotlight Mode. The damage inflicted is considered Basic Attack DMG. When in Red Spotlight Mode, the DMG Multiplier for Red Light: Basic Attack and Red Light: Heavy Attack increases, as does the quantity of Sparks recovered. Red Spotlight Mode expires after completing four Basic Attacks and/or Heavy Attacks.
- Energized Rebound (Passive Skill) – When Red Light Spark has completely recovered, replace Resonance Skill with Resonance Skill Energized Rebound, which deals Electro DMG, and enter Yellow Spotlight Mode. The damage inflicted is considered Basic Attack DMG. When in Yellow Spotlight Mode, Glitter is replaced with Glare, which has a higher DMG Multiplier and recovers more sparks. After shooting 6 Glares, the Yellow Spotlight Mode finishes.
Major Changes to Different Systems
With the latest version, players can expect major changes and optimizations to several in-game systems in order to make them more accessible for average players along with increasing the reward capacity. The systems and the changes are as follows:
Resonators
- The description pages of a Resonator’s skills now include an “Outline” option that allows you to view a condensed version.
- Optimized the description of Resonator Yinlin’s abilities. The damage type connected with Chameleon Cipher and Punishment Mark, both of which are part of Resonator Yinlin’s Forte Circuit, is now specified. This change has no influence on her skills’ actual effectiveness.
Weapons
- Change the appearance of a weapon to a specific Weapon Projection.
- Equipping a weapon with a Weapon Projection does not affect its stats.
- Transparent Weapon Projection allows you to make the equipped weapon totally or partially transparent.
Map
- A new feature has been added that allows you to Fast Travel directly to the location of any triggered Tacet Suppression or Boss Challenge via the Map.
- Included a tool that allows you to track Collection Spots for specific Ingredients and Herbs.
- Added signs to indicate the Hidden Entrances to specific underground sites in the Tiger’s Maw – Mt. Firmament area.
- Added an option to view the many Map layers of certain subsurface areas in the Tiger’s Maw – Mt. Firmament area.
Levelling Up
- Easily upgrade an Echo to the exact levels that unlock new substats (5/10/15/20/25) using the Auto-Select Settings.
- Choose one of two methods for adding materials: “Only Echo EXP items” or “Echo EXP items and Echoes.”
Challenge Rewards
- Added “double rewards” option for Forgery, Simulation, and Tacet Suppression challenges.
- You can now spend double the Waveplates to gain double prizes after completing a Forgery, Simulation, or Tacet Suppression task.
Puzzles and Events
- The Reprise of Tides event now includes new Returnee Quest kinds.
- Changed the positioning of enemies in Forgery and Simulation Challenges, bringing them closer together when they first emerge.
- Improved the gameplay of Side Quest: Cerulean Echoes Adrift in the Winds.
