Hoshimi Miyabi
Hoshimi Miyabi is a much-anticipated S-tier Agent in Zenless Zone Zero. Being the commander of Section 6, Miyabi is known for her calm temperament and outstanding combat skills. She wields her Ethereal-Slaying Katana, Tailless, which makes her a lethal force on the battlefield. As a Frost Anomaly, she may trap adversaries in Icefire, dealing Frost damage and unleashing deadly combos.
Her powers allow her to build up Fallen Frost, allowing her to unleash a powerful forward strike. Miyabi’s role focuses on quick, precise strikes with an elegant conclusion. She will make her debut with Version 1.4, which will be released on December 18, 2024, and is predicted to excel in high-level material due to her flexible and powerful skill set.
Asaba Harumasa
Asaba Harumasa is another brand-new S-tier Electric type agent joining the roster of characters in Zenless Zone Zero. He is an expert combatant, having the ability to switch between a bow and blade at her own whim. Take control of his powerful electric type abilities to deal damage to enemies in a large area. Thanks to Electro Quivers, Asaba can deal significant damage to enemies with just his basic attacks. Players will be able to unlock Asaba Harumasa for free once they complete Inter-Knot level 8 post update.
Shadows Lost – New Game Mode
While Zenless Zone Zero boasts an action-packed combat system, many top players complained of the game being too easy. To counter this, the developers have finally released a challenging game mode called Hollow Zero: Shadows Lost. Post update, eligible players can traverse to this void dimension wherein frightening enemies lurk with enhanced support systems. Equip yourself with new tools like Gear, Resonia, and Bangboo Assist abilities to adapt and dominate. Shadows Lost requires you to think quickly and imaginatively in order to survive tough confrontations.
Players will also get the opportunity to participate in Deadly Assault, a periodic operation filled with growing difficulties and exclusive rewards. These enhancements are more than just skill tests; they take you deeper into the universe of Zenless Zone Zero, connecting gameplay innovation to the evolving story. Whether you’re planning your strategy or jumping headfirst into chaos, this mode is an exciting way to demonstrate your abilities.
Main Story Expansion
Chapter 5, titled “A Storm of Falling Stars,” delves deeper into the unfolding crisis in New Eridu and the enigmatic Ethereal known as Sacrifice. This chapter provides insights into Miyabi’s backstory and showcases the operations of the Hollow Special Operations Section 6. Two new areas are now accessible:
Port Elpis: Unlocked during Main Story Chapter 5, offering new environments and challenges.
Reverb Arena: Accessible after reaching Main Story Chapter 1 – Intermission and completing the Agent Story “Mole in the Hole (I).”
Quality Time Events
A new feature, Quality Time Events, allows Proxies to strengthen bonds with their Agents through:
Wish Events: Completing these for the first time increases the Agent’s Trust and grants rewards like Polychromes.
Fun Events: Experience and collect the Agent’s Fun Events during Quality Time to earn additional rewards.
Quality Time Spots: Engage in activities like arcade games with your Agents at the Arcade, with more venues planned for future updates.
New Bangboos and Drive Discs
The latest update also added 2 new Bangboos for players to tinker around with in hopes of getting closer to their perfect build! Here are the names and acquisition method for the upcoming Bangboos:
- Agent Gulliver (S-Rank): Obtainable from the Bangboo Banner.
- Brawlerboo (A-Rank): Dropped from the Shadows Lost Hollow Zero.
Additionally, new Drive Disc sets, “Branch & Blade Song” and “Astral Voice,” are available to enhance gameplay.
Gameplay Optimizations
Significant adjustments have been made to the Decibels mechanics:
- Individual Calculation: Decibels obtained are now calculated individually for each Agent.
- Increased Gains: More Decibels are earned from hitting enemies, while gains from applying Attribute Anomaly and Disorder effects to normal and elite enemies are reduced.
- Ultimate Usage: Assist Points restored when an Agent uses an Ultimate have been reduced from 3 to 1 point.
- Action Pausing: When an Agent uses an Ultimate, actions of other Agents and allied units are paused until the animation ends.
- Skill Upgrade Suggestions: The order of “Skill Upgrade Suggestions” for certain Agents has been adjusted.
- Resonia Effects: The effect range of some Decibels-related Resonia will now only apply to a single Agent.
- W-Engine Adjustments: The “restores energy” effect of the W-Engine Slice of Time remains effective only for the equipper, while the “gains additional Decibels” effect applies only to the Agent who activates the skill.
