Eversoul Review - A Brand New Entry Into the Gacha RPG Genre
Today we’re taking a look at an interesting new entry into the mobile gaming market, Eversoul. This brand new gacha RPG puts us in the role of the “Savior”, a regular human chosen by an artificial entity called Mephistopheles, who watches over the land of Eden, a different parallel version of our own Earth. Eden itself is inhabited by humanoid beings called “Souls”, who are now facing their biggest challenge yet, as demonic creatures are pouring out of a phenomenon called the “Gate” and are threatening to end existence as we know it.
As the savior brought to Eden by the Souls’ ritual, it’s your duty to bring peace to the land, and the only way to do so is, in true gacha fashion, by recruiting a wide variety of different characters, and using them to create the best and most powerful squads that can stand up to any challenge. And along the way, you’ll also need to farm for valuable upgrade materials so that you can power up your Souls and keep them in top shape.
Familiar Mechanics in a Brand New World
As you can probably glean by now, especially if you’re a long-time enjoyer of the genre, the premise in Eversoul is quite simple and straightforward. The game involves most of the mechanics that you’d expect from a gacha, particularly in the RPG development aspects such as unlocking and recruiting new characters; upgrading and powering up the said characters, and then deploying them on the battlefield so they can fight in your stead.
The combat itself is just as straightforward, with your characters engaging and attacking automatically, and the player controlling their skill usage whenever their special abilities are charged and ready. Alternatively, you can activate auto-combat and let your team handle all the fighting, though we really can’t recommend this feature if you’re going up against any tougher and challenging enemies like bosses.
Outside of the combat, players will be able to interact with other elements and game modes, including a few city building aspects. Similarly, you can chat with your Souls to nurture your relationship, and even unlock extra content as you become closer to them. As such, Eversoul is as much a social sim as it is a gacha RPG.
A Gacha RPG Made for the Mobile Crowd
Eversoul is a mobile game first and foremost, which means that you’ll find a wide variety of tools and features meant to improve the quality of life of the average mobile gamer. For instance, while you’ll need to progress through the story missions manually in order to advance in the game and gain access to all the different features, you’ll always be able to use auto-combat to move along whenever you can’t pay much attention to the game. Similarly, while you’ll need tons of resources in order to keep your units upgraded, your characters will always be farming passively in the background, even while you’re offline.
With these features in place, the best way to further enhance your gaming experience in this game is by playing Eversoul on PC with BlueStacks. Our Android app player is loaded with a ton of features that you won’t find anywhere else, such as the Keymapping Tool that lets you play using your mouse and keyboard, as well as the Instance Manager through which you can seamlessly play on multiple accounts at the same time. And this is without mentioning the inherent benefits of playing on PC with BlueStacks, such as gaming on a large PC monitor instead of a cramped touchscreen, and without any of the restrictions of playing on phones.
While Eversoul has lots of useful features for mobile gamers, you can use these and so many other enhancements by downloading and installing Eversoul on PC.
A Variety of Game Modes to Keep Your Entertained
When you think about a gacha RPG, the first thought that probably comes to mind is the endless grind and resource farming. And while this is very much true for Eversoul, considering that the grind is one of the main components of the game, there are many different methods and game modes revolving around this grind.
For instance, while the main combat stages and story missions will take you a long way, you’ll also be unlocking new game modes such as the town building system, where you must manage and watch over the development of your very own town. In this place, you’ll need to assign your Souls to fulfill part-time jobs in order to produce various resources and perform certain roles, while you run around clearing the town of debris and other obstacles as well as keeping it safe from any wandering monsters.
Just like with the town building aspect, however, we can also find various PvE and PvP game modes, which all revolve around the aforementioned combat system, but allow you to face off against a wide variety of enemies for a chance to receive exclusive rewards. And in the case of PvP, you’ll also be able to prove your mettle in order to earn a spot in the leaderboards for your server.
There are plenty of things to see and do in Eversoul, even if you’re a veteran of the genre and are familiar with most of the game’s basic elements. Whether you’re looking to create deep bonds with the characters that you’ll unlock during your adventures, or simply want to create powerful squads and become the strongest player in the server, you’ll likely find a lot to enjoy in this brand new gacha RPG.
