Ashen Valkyries Beginner's Guide and Tips
Ashen Valkyries is a fast-paced Idle RPG that boasts thematic battles where strategy and tact are key to progression. Embark on a fantasy journey filled in a post-apocalyptic world brimming with doom and chaos as humans are held captive by the dark forces. In this beginners guide, we will be diving deeper into the game’s core mechanics and helping new players understand them for ease of progression. Let’s begin!
Understanding the Combat Mechanics of Ashen Valkyries
Ashen Valkyries is an Idle game to the core with many mechanics set in place to help players get rewards even when they are not playing the game. Even so, the combat is one aspect that all players need to get familiarized with to clear the main story mode and other content available in the game. For starters, the fights happen in real-time state and players have little to no control over what their heroes do in the fights. All heroes have an energy bar at the bottom of their screen. When they deal damage, take damage, or kill enemies, this energy bar fills up. Once full, players can tap on the hero’s portrait at the bottom of the screen to unleash their ultimate ability.
All players can take up to 6 heroes in battle. The combat is wave-based, hence, expect enemies to also have multiple heroes deployed that you need to finish off. Once you defeat all enemies or all your heroes are defeated, the battle ends. All heroes will have a green HP bar at the top of their player names to indicate their total HP left.
Once depleted to 0, they will fall in battle. Heroes will use their basic attacks to hit enemies normally. You cannot target specific enemies and the heroes will automatically attack enemies at random. The game does have an interesting set of quality-of-life features such as auto-battle and 2X battle speed. Players will unlock these features as they climb the stages in the story mode.
Dungeon
The dungeon is a classified place in Ashen Valkyries that allows players to enhance their acquired heroes. Players can use their acquired Cloth Fragments and Advanced Cloth Fragments to help unlock exclusive garments for their heroes. These garments provide additive stats that help increase each hero’s combat power, making them vastly stronger in return. Players can get this currency via events, dungeon shop, gift packs, VIP, and save pink.
Quests
Ashen Valkyries boasts an interactive questing system that allows players to get a consistent set of rewards each day of the week. Majority of the quests are quite simple to complete and consist of tasks that you would normally engage with to get stronger. There are 3 types of quests – Daily, weekly, and main quests. Daily quests, as the name suggests, are quests which reset on a daily basis and reward you daily. These quests are as follows:
- Challenge Boss 1 time
- Upgrade hero 1 time
- Give friendship points 1 time
- Fast Idle 1 time
- Claim idle rewards 2 times
- Augment equipment 1 time
- Recruit heroes at recruitment station 1 time
- Challenge exile prison 1 time
- Accept 3 personal commissions
Weekly quests, as the name suggests, are quests which reset on a weekly basis and reward you weekly. These quests are as follows:
- Star-upgrade 2 times in training ground
- Recruit heroes at recruit station 20 times
- Buy merchandise in shop 2 times
- Buy equipment in guild shop 1 time
- Accept team commissions 5 times
- Clear stage 1 of dungeon exploration 3 times
- Earn 15 victories in Arena
Main quests are different from all the other quests as they are your primary progression-based quests. The rewards obtained from completing these quests can only be claimed once. They essentially dictate what you need to be doing in order to move ahead in the game. Many of these quests are tied to how far you can go in the story mode.
Heroes and Recruitment Station
Heroes are the characters that are available to be recruited and used in battles. They make up the core gameplay of Ashen Valkyries. Heroes come in different rarities, with the highest one being SSR, and the lowest ones being N. The higher the rarity of the hero, the stronger they are considered in general due to higher stat line and superior set of abilities. Players can get access to new heroes from the Recruitment station that unlocks after you clear Stage 2-2.
The recruitment station employs a gacha system that allows players to get heroes at varying probabilities. They are as follows:
- SSR heroes – 4.61% chance of summoning
- SR heroes – 43.7% chance of summoning
- N heroes – 51.69% chance of summoning
The recruitment system has a host of different banners using different currencies to help players acquire new heroes. They are as follows:
- Diamond Banner – This banner allows players to get 3-5 star heroes. Players will need to use diamonds to summon on this banner. A single summon costs 300 diamonds while a 10-pull costs 2700 diamonds. A SR or SSR hero is guaranteed to be summoned every 10 pulls.
- Friendship Banner – This banner allows players to get 3-5 star heroes. Players will need to use friendship points to summon on this banner. A single summon costs 10 friendship points while a 10-pull costs 100 friendship points. A SR or SSR hero is guaranteed to be summoned every 10 pulls.
- Rate-Up Banner – This banner allows players to get 3-5 star heroes. Players will need to use their acquired tokens to summon on this banner. A single summon costs 1 token while a 10-pull costs 10 tokens. A SR or SSR hero is guaranteed to be summoned every 10 pulls.
