Building up your base amidst a frozen wasteland can be quite difficult, especially since this is the main objective in Frozen City. Alternatively, if you’re completely new and want to learn the basics before getting started, we suggest first checking out our beginner’s guide for Frozen City.
With that intro out of the way, let’s get started with the tips!
Play on BlueStacks to Enjoy a Superior Gameplay Experience
Frozen City is a game designed to be played easily on phones—in fact, the game is played entirely in portrait orientation so that phone users can enjoy the game while playing it one-handed. However, while it’s quite easy to navigate menus and issue orders on your phone, this is far from being the optimal platform for enjoying this game, mainly because there’s a lot of waiting involved since your survivors will need to farm for resources in order to continue developing your bases, which in turn takes a lot of time.
For this reason, you can play Frozen City on PC with BlueStacks to enjoy this game much more, as you can simply minimize it to the background and use your computer for something else while your survivors farm, without the need for actually closing and relaunching the game every single time you want to check on your bases.
This is just one of the inherent benefits of gaming on PC with BlueStacks, as our Android app player also has a lot of different tools and features designed to enhance your gameplay experience when enjoying any mobile game on your computer. Work on Completing Your Task List
Frozen City is not like any other base builder or conquest game, in the sense that it’s much more focused on the survival experience than on the actual PvP and combat. And while there are certain combat sections that you’ll have to complete, most of your time will be spent actually developing your bases and completing tasks from the missions list in order to progress to further stages.
Speaking of which, the task list is, by far, one of the most important elements in Frozen City. This menu is where you’ll find each and every mission that you need to complete in the current stage, in order to advance to the next. What’s more, while completing all the tasks will let you go to the next stage, you’ll also gain useful rewards for every mission that you complete within the current stage, some of which will be vital for your progression. In fact, some of these tasks can reward you with chests that contain heroes and rare resources.
All in all, it’s always worth to constantly check your task list to see if there are any pending rewards, as well as to get an idea of what you should be working on at any given moment.
Upgrade the Corresponding Heroes to Unlock Further Production Slots
Some tasks require you to upgrade certain buildings and reach certain levels. However, in order to actually work on these tasks, you’ll first need to gain access to the resource requirements, some of which can only be worked on once you level up your heroes. This is because some worker slots in certain buildings are unlocked once you level up specific heroes to a designated level. A good example of this is in stage 2, where the first Workshop slot is unlocked once you unlock Charlotte and level her up to level 5.
Just like with the Charlotte example above, there are other buildings that also have additional production slots available once you upgrade certain heroes to specific levels. Regardless, you’ll always want to keep your heroes at the highest possible level, considering that their presence alone can grant you awesome productivity and efficiency bonuses.
For example, Gianluca reduces the upkeep cost of your Furnace/Campfire building, reducing its cost by a set percentage. And in these cases, this bonus continues increasing as you level up the corresponding hero.
Open Your Free Chests for a Chance of Unlocking New Heroes
While you’ll receive some heroes for free once you complete certain tasks, the vast majority of your roster will come from opening chests in the shop menu. Especially if you’re a F2P gamer that doesn’t plan on spending real money in Frozen City, you should always be keeping an eye on the store for when free chests pop up, as these will be your main source of heroes and fragments.
You can get a free chest from the shop every 8 hours, so you should aim to open at least three of these per day. If you’re playing Frozen City on PC with BlueStacks, you can set up a macro that will do it for you, and you can set it to loop indefinitely for as long as you want so you never miss out on any of these chests.
If in Doubt, Tap the Icon to Get More Information
Frozen City has a ton of different systems, resources, buildings, and other elements that you’ll be interacting with during your gaming sessions. And while some of these buildings and elements are quite obvious as to what they do, there are others that won’t be readily apparent at first. Luckily, if you ever find yourself lost or don’t know what anything does, there’s a good chance that you’ll learn more simply by clicking on them.
In some cases, you won’t get more info simply by clicking on the building or element, but you’ll likely find an exclamation mark icon that you can click on in order to learn more info about the corresponding element.
