Gods & Demons is an immersive Idle RPG developed by Com2uS, blending epic fantasy with breathtaking visuals and engaging gameplay. Set in a richly crafted world of divine powers and infernal chaos, the game invites players to step into the roles of legendary heroes destined to shape the fate of gods and mortals alike. Players can choose heroes from diverse classes, each with unique abilities and playstyles, allowing for deep customization and strategic combat. In this beginners guide, we will be exploring the game’s intricate combat system and versatile game modes that are present to provide constant entertainment to players. Let’s begin!

Understanding the Combat Mechanics of Gods & Demons

At it’s core, Gods & Demons presents a vertical landscape mode stylized gameplay consisting of multiple heroes from different factions and classes. Players can recruit these specialized heroes from the innate gacha system, something which we will expand upon later in this guide. To summarize, your main combat experience will come from the main story campaign mode that has multiple chapters, with each chapter further containing multiple stages. Players can beat these stages that rise in difficulty by conjuring up different strategies and getting to know how battles actually work.

Starting with the basics, all players can deploy up to 7 different heroes in the designated formation places. Depending on the position of the heroes, they will automatically attack the nearest enemy. Some skills can target a single enemy while others target multiple enemies at the same time. You can check out these skills of your heroes by simply clicking on their portrait. The game employs many idle game mechanics such as the classic rage/energy gain. Your deployed heroes and the enemies both start with some amount of rage.

This rage can be seen via the yellow bar present beneath the heroes. The green bar represents their total HP. When heroes use their basic attacks, they will additionally gain some extra Rage. Upon reaching the full rage bar capacity, the hero will be ready to  unleash their ultimate ability. The game employs many QOL (Quality-of-Life) features such as 3X battle speed and auto battle that helps you cast these abilities automatically without any manual intervention.

Heroes

Heroes are the core playable characters in Gods & Demons. The game employs a deep and complicated set of heroes divided into several rarities, elements, and factions. Each hero is unique in their own right and possess different active and passive abilities. In combat, these abilities are used by AI and not by the player. Still, you should be aware of them as they will be frequently used in building a strategized and synergized squad. You can view all of your owned heroes in the “Hero” menu. Further, you can also click on individual heroes to gain knowledge about their biography, story, voicelines, and abilities.

Since Gods & Demons is an RPG game, you will get ample opportunities to strengthen your heroes via different processes. Firslty, you can level up your heroes that will directly increase their base stats in terms of attack, HP, defense, and more. This will use exp resources that you can earn from completing main story stages, idle rewards, events, and more. Next, you can ascend heroes to new star levels that permanently boosts their stats. This will require getting their duplicate copies, so the process is difficult to complete. Lastly, you can equip them with 6 different gear pieces to provide them enhanced stats and unique passive effects.

The Gacha System

The gacha system of Gods & Demons is not as complicated as other Idle games. At the time of global launch, there are only 3 distinct summoning banners. Each summoning banner requires different forms of currency. The primary gacha currencies are your Diamonds, friendship points, Golden contract, and Silver contract. Players can earn these currencies by simply playing the game, completing missions, participating in events, redeem codes, and more. There are 3 different summoning banners that perform different duties, such as:
