Best Way to Win Duels in Hunting Clash on PC
Hunting Clash is heavily a PvP-based hunting game that pits players against each other in a competitive environment. The two main game modes that players can participate in are the normal Hunt – which you can use to enter the Championships – and the Duel mode. Duels is an interesting game mode, but it can just as easily feel frustrating as well if you end up losing too much. Playing with real people in real-time can be both pressuring and exciting, whether you win or lose.
Believe it or not, there are things you can do to improve your chances of winning against other players. Understanding the fundamentals of Hunting Clash is essential to winning your duels, so it’s best you check out our Beginner’s Guide to Playing Hunting Clash if you haven’t yet. In addition to the basics, some advanced pointers can help you dominate the competition without a problem. All you need are the right tools to get you started and hard work to climb your way to the top.
Duels in Hunting Clash
Duels are one on one hunting tournaments that pit you against another player in real-time. Each player will be given two animals that they’ll need to hunt within a 90-second time limit. Those animals will be scored according to their weight and overall quality. Once the time limit is reached, the player with the highest points wins the challenge and will earn rewards such as booster packs or other currency. If the player has reached the limit of boosters in their inventory, they can’t gain more boosters.
Duels also grant the player Hunter Points. These points increase the player’s overall standing in server – accumulating a certain number of points will promote you to a higher league where you’ll face off against stronger players. Needless to say, losing duels will cause deductions in your Hunter Points, and losing a certain number of points will demote you to a lower league. Once you’ve climbed the highest-ranked division, you’ll be facing off against the best of the best.
Improving Your Chances of Winning
Winning in Hunting Clash duels requires that you equip yourself with the right tools. Having the right stuff will ensure that you win more of your games, no matter which ranked league you end up in.
Complete Your Lure Cards
As we have mentioned in our Lure Card Guide, lure cards are everything. Having a complete set of lure cards will ensure that you’ll always be able to compete in any region. Oftentimes, opponents will be lacking at least one of the lures required for a hunt, which will cause them to miss out on points. The person with the more lure cards is often the winner, and those that have limited cards will lose before the match even begins.
The Lure Card Guide will also introduce you to ways you can get more cards in the game so make sure that you check that out. Once you’ve completed your lure card set, you’ll be ready to take on any challenge that’s thrown your way. The most important cards to have are the Mythic lure cards, as these ones provide the most value.
Upgrade Your Lure Cards
Once you’ve reached the higher leagues, you’ll realize that almost everybody you fight will have a complete set of lure cards too. When this happens, your next goal is to upgrade your existing lure cards to increase the quality of the animals you’re hunting. Upgrading the quality of the animals means that you’ll earn more points by taking them down.
You can upgrade lure cards by using duplicate cards and a few Silver Coins. The cards become more expensive the higher you upgrade them to, but it’s well worth the advantage that you get from increasing the card’s value. Upgraded cards have a chance to increase an animal’s value by a few dozen points, which may very well make the crucial difference in a tight matchup.
Upgrade Your Weapon
Upgrading your weapon is difficult since you need to collect lots of resources to do so, and all you’ll have to show for it is a small upgrade that may or may not even be noticeable in your duels. Regardless, even the 1% increases that a weapon upgrade brings might come in clutch in serious situations.
Try to upgrade your weapon whenever you have the chance. You can upgrade a wide range of factors in your weapons, like their performance or the quality of the animal being hunted. Choose to upgrade animals that you often choose in duels to make your resource management a little bit more efficient.
Tips to Keep in Mind during Duels
In terms of strategy, here are some things that you can do to improve your performance during duels.
Choosing the Right Prey
You might be tempted to choose the higher quality animal during your hunts. However, you should always choose lure cards with higher levels if the difference in rarity is just one step below. This ensures that you get the maximum amount of points during the hunt.
For lower duels, you should never choose lure cards that you don’t have. This is because animals that you don’t have lure cards for will never appear in a duel, causing you to waste your time and resources, even if you attempt to fight it out.
Complete the Hunt First
There might be moments when you accidentally missed your Precision Shot, which results in a lower quality animal. If this happens, you should proceed to the next animal before you attempt to retry that animal since there is a chance that you might lose out on the points of the hunt. You can also redo your other prey later if you have more time.
This can actually work to your advantage as it lures your opponent to feel comfortable after having a temporary lead. Strike them down when the time limit is almost up by hunting for animals with higher points so that they won’t have time to recover. As Sun Tzu once said, “Appear weak, when you are strong”.
