King Arthur: Legends Rise is a strategic turn-based RPG where the development of your heroes is key to succeeding in battles and progressing through the game’s campaign, PvP modes, and dungeons. Each hero is unique in their own right and can be powered up regardless of their base rarity or element. While some heroes are always going to be better than others, you can still empower your weaker heroes to make them eligible for battles. This guide will provide a comprehensive overview of hero development, focusing on leveling, gear, abilities, and team composition.

Levelling Up

Like a true RPG, King Arthur: Legends Rise allows players to strategically power up their owned heroes through a series of different processes. By upgrading, we mean that you can enhance the core stats of the hero on top of increasing their level caps. Levelling up is the best and most direct way to enhance your heroes core stats such as Attack, Defense, and Health. These stats are automatically empowered when you feed them potions of experience. The cornerstone of any Hero’s growth is Experience Potions, which are utilized to raise their level. Each Hero’s maximum level is linked to their star rating:

• 1-Star hero – Level 10 (MAX)
• 2-Star hero – Level 20 (MAX)
• 3-Star hero – Level 30 (MAX)
• 4-Star hero – Level 40 (MAX)
• 5-Star hero – Level 50 (MAX)
• 6-Star hero – Level 60 (MAX)

Players will need potions to level up their heroes. These potions come in different rarities and the higher the rarity, the more experience it will impart upon heroes. Players can get their hands on more potions from the following avenues:

• Burning Land – Here you will confront Gorgos, a blazing monster who inflicts damage-over-time (DoT) debuffs, and you will farm higher-grade potions. As is customary, the awards increase with each dungeon stage. This is by far the most effective use of your stamina for experience farming.
• Story Mode/Campaign Stages – Just by completing the campaign stages in different difficulties of the story mode, you can get access to tons of potions. 
• Plaza Fountain – Your plaza fountain will automatically generate some potions in AFK time. Players can collect them in 1 go by tapping on it. 
• Market – The Marketplace also sometimes has potions up for grabs. Be careful as you will need to splurge some Gold to buy them.

Advancing Heroes

Advancing heroes refers to the process of increasing the star level of your heroes to increase their level cap. When your hero reaches their max level according to their current star level, they will be ready to be advanced to the next star level. This process also increases their core stats by some degree. This process requires 2 distinct resources – Mana Orbs and Fairy Stones. Players can get them from the following areas in the game:

• Mana Orbs – Farmed on the Plain of the Beast after defeating Penveid, a large hog capable of shielding itself. Higher dungeon stages give rarer Orbs, which are required for Heroes to advance beyond 5 stars. The Mage Tower in your estate can also passively gather Mana and allow you to synthesize higher-grade Orbs, albeit this can be costly in gold.
• Fairy Stones – These stones can be farmed from the different campaign stages across all difficulties. Players can simply tap on the type of fairy stone required for advancing the hero and the UI will directly show them to all the campaign stages where they are located.

Awakening 

Awakening refers to the process of upgrading your hero’s star to purple stars. It is a great way to impart your heroes with more stats on top of increasing their overall CP. Awakening works in a simple way. Each hero in the game is assigned a Favor from the following 6 types:

• Stag

• Crow

• Hound

• Serpent

• Steed

• Bull

All of these Favors have their own statues that can be farmed from the favour dungeon. All favours have their own dungeons and players can get their hands on different rarities of Favour statues as they defeat the multiple levels in the dungeon. The higher dungeon level you beat, the higher quality of Favour statues you will receive. Pedestals, which can be farmed in the Forbidden Dungeon, are required beginning with the third Awakening. This dungeon is a 60-level tower, with difficulty and prizes increasing as you progress. 5 tokens will be available every day, with immediate auto clear on previously beaten levels, so don’t miss out on this! Pedestals can also be purchased regularly from the Clan Shop, so being involved in your clan is critical.

Skill Upgrades

Players can enhance the passive abilities of their heroes directly as these are the only type of abilities that cannot be changed for a hero and stick with them. Their active abilities can be changed with the type of Relic you choose to equip on them. You will need to use Talisman and Brooches in order to enhance the passive abilities of heroes.

• Talisman – This resource, earned in the Master of Death Dungeon, is given at random to Favours. This dungeon is difficult and only grants five daily tokens, which must be divided between Hero and Relic Skill leveling.
• Brooches – Brooches are farmable in the Hard and Hell campaign stages, and are associated with Hero roles (attack, defense, control, or support). Drops may be unpredictable as they are not guaranteed, making farming them stamina-intensive. 

Relic Upgrades

Relics, much like Heroes, must be leveled and advanced in increments of ten. To accomplish this, you will require Relic Breath and Star Seeds. These may be earned in their own dungeon by beating Aldri in the Frozen Plains. Aldri is a legendary creature with healing powers, making him a tough opponent. The Mage Tower additionally allows you to passively collect and/or synthesise higher-rarity Star Seeds for a premium price. Use this option carefully to prevent gold drainage.

Relics can also be awakened by adding purple stars to increase their strength. This requires Awakening Stones of varying rarities, which may be gained by battling Tarrasque in the Shrine of Storms. Relic awakening significantly increases your Hero’s effectiveness, but it demands careful investment. Be careful which Relics you upgrade, as the system does not presently support resetting Relic upgrades.
