Once Human: A Complete Guide to Survival
Once Human features an open-world post-apocalyptic themed world wherein there are no regular laws of humanity that ensue, the natural order of the world has collapsed, and each Human is looking out for themselves in order to survive. One of the most intriguing parts of the game is the different mechanics associated with survival. You need to fulfill your basic needs, such as eating, drinking, and more, to stay alive, for starters. On a more advanced level, survival also means building a settlement and expanding your territory by infusing more resources into it. This guide will explain everything pertaining to survival in Once Human.
Survival and its Importance in Once Human
In Once Human, you take on the role of a meta-human who has super strength and agility. Humanity has manifolds, and you can essentially live much longer than a normal human would. However, the need to eat something nutritious and drink water has been etched into our genes. Without adequate food and water, you are bound to die. Hence, survival is the basic goal and right of every player playing Once Human.
Keep in mind not all food and fruits found in the open are safe to eat. It might look so, but the Stardust has infected them to the core, making them dangerous to eat. Losing your sanity means losing your humanity. When exposed to Stardust, your sanity suffers. You will find yourself roaming on the verge of crazy. If at all possible, avoid crossing the line.
Try Not to Die
Apart from your biological need to survive with food and water, another aspect of life that you need to adapt to is physical defense. Players will find themselves in tricky situations as every Human is looking out for their survival. Varying monsters have been birthed due to the influence of Stardust, immobilizing their previous nature and granting them a new violent one. In this threatening post-apocalyptic world, anything is possible. Even wild animals such as cheetahs, foxes, and more pose a bigger threat than they used to.
Monsters looking out for bloodshed have been on the rise ever since Stardust entered the atmosphere. You will often find them crawling in the wild, usually hunting in packs, an instinct that animals do not lose. The good news is that you are not entirely vulnerable. You can utilize a variety of weapons, equipment, and gadgets, ranging from a simple baseball bat to a high-tech handgun that uses cutting-edge technology. Arm yourself and see what else is in store.
Gathering Resources
Since humans are no longer at the top of the food chain, you must collect different types of resources. These resources play a vital role in building, construction, and more use cases. They are the core solution to developing more technology and once again become the apex predator. Learning to thrive will be a task at first, but you will quickly get used to it. Luckily, the ecosystem is still alive, and nature’s gifts are ripe to be taken.
Gather and mine resources, then utilize them to create a variety of useful items. Use your hard-earned money to build a house and fortify it to protect it from violent intruders. Create weapons and traps for hunting and clearing ruins. And dying in war does not mean the end. In Once Human, you can select your respawn location. Will you return, grab your dropped things, and resume the fight? Or will you run away, preserve your strength, and wait? It’s your decision. The important resources in Once Human are as follows
- Water: Water, or at least drinkable water, is quite a luxury in the intense world of Once Human. While there are multiple bodies of water, don’t be a fool and drink directly from the stream. There’s a high chance of contamination due to stardust pollution. But you can cleanse the water by boiling it on a stove. Ideally, boiled water will give you 20 points of hydration.
- Food: Food is available in ample quantities throughout the world of Once Human. Players can participate in activities like fishing and hunting to catch their prey and roast it for the perfect delicacy.
- Iron Ore: Iron ore is an important resource that can be found by mining Iron nodes. Iron nodes are found in higher-level locations, notably levels 20 and up. Iron ore can be discovered along the banks of the Iron River, which is located north of the Dayton Wetlands.
- Tin Ore: Tin ore is an important resource that mining Tin nodes can find. Tin nodes can be found in the Broken Delta region, located in western Dayton Wetlands. Make sure you have a Curiosity Catcher 1 to locate Tin nodes.
- Charcoal: Charcoal is an important resource that is not found naturally in the world. This means that you need to combine some things. Firstly, you will need some wooden logs. In the combination strategy, 5 logs can make 1 charcoal. You will need to burn the logs through the Memetics menu to do so.
It is highly recommended that you play Once Human on a PC or Laptop with BlueStacks without worrying about battery drainage and smooth gameplay.
