Once Human Guide to Get and Use the Wish Machine

The mobile version of the popular post-apocalyptic survival game Once Human is set to release on 23rd April, 2025. The game has been one of the top wishlisted titles for many players of the genre ever since it’s inception back in 2024. In Once Human, the Wish Machine is a pivotal feature that allows players to acquire blueprints for weapons, gear, and other essential items, enhancing their survival experience in the game’s post-apocalyptic world. This guide provides a comprehensive overview of the Wish Machine, including how to unlock, build, and utilize it effectively.
How to Unlock the Wish Machine
Unlocking the Wish Machine is not a difficult task since the game want’s players to unlock it early. You can set up the wish machine by simply progressing through the main storyline quests. The Wish Machine appears during the main quest line in the Greywater Camp of the Iron River section. Once you’ve encountered the machine, engage with it to gain the choice of transferring it to your base or crafting it with the necessary resources. Once unlocked, constructing the Wish Machine requires the following materials:
- Copper Ingots: 25
- Rusted Parts: 10
- Metal Scraps: 5
- Rubber: 3
- Glass: 5
After gathering these materials, players can build the Wish Machine within their territory by accessing the building menu under Facilities > Function Facility.
For those unaware, Once Human’s the wish machine system is akin to gacha mechanics in other games as there’s a bit of luck involved as to what types of blueprints you can get. You see, each weapon in the game has a base rarity assigned to it. You can see it from the color of the weapon and it’s even written in the information. The highest rarity is legendary, while the lowest is Rare. The higher the rarity, the lower the probability of acquiring that rarity of blueprints.
How to Use Wish Machine
Once you’ve placed the Wish Machine in your base, you can begin pulling stuff from it with your Starchrom (in-game currency). You can choose between a single draw and ten drawings at a time, based on your existing resources. Since you will need to make multiple draws in the wish machine for a useful part, you will also need tons of Starchrom. For those unaware, it’s the game’s freemium currency that can be earned via free-to-play activities or by paying via in-game microtransactions. For f2p players, you can complete the different in-game quests, weekly tasks, and participate in events to get more Starchrom.
A single draw in the wish machine requires 500 starchrom, while a 10-pull requires 5000 starchrom. Confirm your selection to start the procedure. This will begin with a mini-whacking game in which you strike a llama with a mallet. While the llama you hit has no bearing on your final award, you must make the shot. If you do not want to play the game, select the bypass Cutscene button to bypass the entire procedure.
Tips for Using the Wish Machine to your Benefit
While the mechanics to use Wish machine are quite straight-forward, many players can maximize their efficiency while using it by following these tips:
Evaluating Costs: While the mini-game offers a chance-based approach, directly purchasing desired blueprints from the Blueprint Shop may be more cost-effective, especially for high-tier items.
Budgeting Starchrom: Given the limited availability of Starchrom, prioritize spending on essential blueprints that align with your gameplay style.
Understanding Probability: Recognize that the mini-game’s rewards are randomized. If aiming for a specific item from the machine, be prepared for multiple attempts or consider a direct purchase from the blueprint shop.
Players can enjoy playing Once Human on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
