Players can further use these Sinners in the tactical battles that challenge the wits of players. The gameplay exists in a small map that is divided into multiple squares with each square representing 1 area of movement for both allies and enemies. We will further learn more about these systems in the combat mechanics section of this guide.

Basics of Summoning System
Path to Nowhere is a gacha game that makes use of the probability system to give players a chance of collecting their favorite sinners. Players can get these Sinners from the in-game system known as “Arrest” which unlocks after players complete the tutorial. Akin to many similar gacha games, the Sinners that are of a higher rarity have a lower chance of being summoned while the Sinners that are of the lowest rarity have the highest chance of being summoned.
Here are the different rarities of Sinners and their rates:
- S Rank Sinners – 2% probability of being summoned
- A Rank Sinners – 18% probability of being summoned
- R Rank Sinners – 80% probability of being summoned
Players can obtain these Sinners from the different summoning banners available in the Arrest section. Here are the different summoning banners new players will see when they first go to the Arrest menu:
- Sin and Order Beginner Summoning Banner – This is a special beginner’s banner that is available to all new players entering the game. In this banner, players are guaranteed to get an S-ranked Sinner in the first 10 draws they make. Further, players can make up to 20 summons on this banner. Each 10 pull is discounted and costs only 8 Arrest Warrants to do the summons. Keep in mind that a limited pool of S-ranked Sinners is available from this summoning banner. It is ideal for players who are looking to re-roll efficiently.
- Routine Summoning Banner – In this summoning banner, players can summon R-S ranked sinners using their Arrest Orders. This banner contains all the sinners available in the game with the rate-up sinner having the highest chance of being summoned if players manage to obtain an S-ranked sinner.
- Regular Summoning Banner – In this summoning banner, players can summon R-S ranked sinners using their Arrest Orders. This banner contains all the sinners available in the game.
Here is a brief overview of the different summoning currencies used:
- Warrant – Warrants are the main currency used to summon on all the available banners in Path to Nowhere. Players can get them from in-game events, main story rewards, and through purchasing them directly by using your hypercubes.
A pity system also exists in Path to Nowhere for the joy of free-to-play players. The drop rate chance of S-rank sinners increases to 2.84% if players have not summoned an S ranks sinner in 50 summons. If players do not manage to summon an S-rank sinner till 79 summon on a banner, then the 80th summon is guaranteed to be an S-rank sinner. Take a look at the best sinners to re-roll for in Path to Nowhere with the help of this tier list.
Understanding the Combat Mechanics
The combat system of Path to Nowhere is not that tough to understand. As we mentioned in the beginning, the entire map is divided into multiple squares with each square representing a movement area where both allies and enemies can be placed. The major difference is that these games do not let your characters move while the enemies are free to move. Usually, the entire map is marked with crosses that represent the area from where enemies will spawn and move to the respective lanes. The goal of enemies is to come from the left hand side and cross the right-hand side boundary where you, the protagonist stand. If 1 enemy crosses you, it means you have lost 1 Sanity or SAN in short. Each stage has a limited amount of SAN to be lost after which you will get defeated. Players need to place their sinners in strategic locations to counter the incoming waves of enemies.
Players are required to make a formation of 6 different sinners to be placed on the map. As a form of relief, players have generated a preview of the map beforehand the battle starts so they can strategize accordingly. Your sinners that you place on the battlefield use their basic attacks whenever an enemy is in range. Some sinners have ranged attackers while some are melee. Players need to have a good mix of both depending on the stage they are fighting. Players do have some control over their sinners as they can use their ultimate active abilities whenever you want by pressing on the shining button above their head. Sinners get an ability gauge whenever they deal damage to enemies, take damage from enemies, and kill enemies. Once the ability gauge is full, their ultimate ability will be ready to be used. One other distinct feature in Path to Nowhere is the ability to reposition your sinners in different locations according to the need of the hour. For example, if you see an enemy approaching dangerously close to escaping, you can move one of your sinners to block them from escaping and saving you some SAN. A limited number of such movements are available in every battle.
Enhance your Sinners in Path to Nowhere
Feeling like you are stuck in any particular stage and have tried everything you can from a strategic point of view? Well, there might be a big chance that you are lacking in terms of sheer power and the stats required to beat the particular stage. Path to Nowhere is a stat-hungry game that will require you to constantly upgrade your owned sinners to make efficient progress in a short duration of time. As the game is a gacha game, naturally, the higher rarity sinners will have better natural base stats compared to those that are of a lower rarity. However, with the correct mindset, players can potentially make even their low-rarity sinners threatening and useful in multiple game modes. Here are the different methods by which you can empower your Sinners to their maximum potential:
- Level Up
- Promotion
- Shackle
- Skill Up
Level Up – Levelling your sinners is one of the best ways to guarantee an increase in their base stats. By base stats, we mean the Attack, Defense, and HP you see when you go to their profile. Players can level up their sinners by going to the Promote menu and feeding the required materials to level them. Each sinner takes up a certain amount of DisCoins and Mania Essence to level up. The higher the level up, the more resources they will consume. The level is capped until players promote the sinner to their next enhancement. For example, the first level cap stands at Level 20.
Promotion – Players can promote their sinners to a new enhancement level in order to increase their level cap and provide them with more base stats. Different promotion levels also unlock different abilities and passive effects for the Sinner which also increases their usability. Each promotion enhancement is called a “Phase”. The 1st Phase increases the max level limit from 20 to 40. The 2nd Phase increases the max level limit from 40 to 70. The 3rd Phase increases the max level limit from 70 to 90. The 1st Phase also unlocks a new passive skill for the Sinner. The 2nd Phase also unlocks a new passive ability for the Sinner. The 3rd Phase unlocks a new Skin for the Sinner as well as their exclusive crimebrand slot. Players require different resources available in different dungeons to promote their sinners to different phases.
Shackle – Shackle is the process by which players can enhance the existing skills of their sinners while providing them with additional stats. Shackle is an expensive process as it requires players to feed duplicates of the sinner to enhance them. Players can Shackle a sinner up to 5 times at maximum.
Skill Up – Skilling up your sinners is another way to get the maximum output from them. Although, skilling up does not affect the base stats of the sinner it does affect the damage output or utility of the sinner by increasing the damage multipliers of the skill or decreasing the cooldown of the skill. Skills can be upgraded by consuming DisCoins, which are abundantly available. Some skills can only be upgraded after the sinner reaches a particular phase.
