What is Cursed City?

Cursed City is a 30-day, non-linear challenge mode in RAID: Shadow Legends that unlocks once you hit level 52. The city is split into four districts—Cobblemarket, Deadrise, Plagueholme, and Soulcross—each containing 25 stages filled with tough enemies, bosses, and unique conditions that rotate with each new cycle.

You’ll have to carefully plan your path through the city, deciding which stages to tackle first and which districts to prioritize. Since you have a limited number of daily keys, it’s important to make every attempt count. However, unlike other game modes, failing a stage doesn’t waste your key, so you’re free to retry or explore different paths without worrying about burning your resources.

Keys and Progression

Progression through the Cursed City is a little different from other modes like the Doom Tower. You get 8 Cursed City Keys each day, which are required to attempt any regular stage or boss battle. These keys are only used when you successfully complete a stage, so you’re free to experiment with different strategies. If you hit a wall, there might be an alternate route through the city to keep you moving forward.

To progress through the city, you’ll need to carefully plan your path across interconnected stages, keeping in mind that each stage brings its own set of challenges. Boss stages, for instance, will pit you against powerful foes, including double boss stages, which are significantly tougher. Stages and Boss Fights

Each district in Cursed City contains 25 stages, and 6 of these are boss or double boss fights. As you move through Cobblemarket, Deadrise, Plagueholme, and Soulcross, the difficulty will ramp up, especially in later districts like Soulcross. In these stages, you’ll often need specialized teams and awakened champions to even stand a chance.

The final boss of Cursed City is Amius the Lunar Archon, who resides in the Eclipse Tower. To face him, you need to collect 3 Eclipse Keys, which can be earned by defeating double bosses in three of the four districts (excluding Soulcross). Amius himself is no ordinary boss; his fight is a multi-phase battle that will test the limits of your champions, making it crucial to have a well-balanced team.

Rotating Conditions and Restrictions

One of the key features that sets Cursed City apart from other game modes is the rotating conditions. Each month, the city resets, and while the enemies and bosses remain the same, the conditions you face on each stage will change. These conditions can range from enemy buffs to restrictions on which factions or types of champions you can bring into battle.

For example, some stages may require you to only use champions that are “Awakened,” which means they must meet certain power criteria to be eligible for the fight. Other stages may limit you to using specific factions or restrict the number of champions on your team. Because of this, having a deep roster of champions is essential if you want to fully clear Cursed City every month.

Rewards and Quests

The rewards in Cursed City are worth the effort, especially if you’re aiming to strengthen your team. Each time you clear a stage for the first time in a rotation, you’ll receive valuable loot such as Artifacts and Accessories from the Supersonic and Merciless Gear Sets. These are variable gear sets that provide additional bonuses depending on how many pieces of the set you equip on a champion.

In addition to stage rewards, there are also quests that offer extra goodies. For each rotation, you can complete quests like “Clear 25 Stages” or “Defeat Amius the Lunar Archon” for special rewards, including Cursed Candles and Cursed Chests. These can be used to summon powerful champions or even unlock special characters like Karnage the Anarch.
