RAID: Shadow Legends – Gaius the Gleeful Fragment Fusion Event Guide
The 3rd anniversary for RAID: Shadow Legends is in full swing and Plarium wants to ignite the thrill further with announcing a special Fragment fusion event for this occasion. The turn-based RPG regularly holds these fragment fusion events as part of a monthly cycle to introduce new champions and give all players a chance to obtain a legendary grade champion for totally free, required, they complete the corresponding events and tournaments to earn them. This time, the fragment fusion event for Gaius the Gleeful is starting out on 19th April 2022 and ends on 3rd May 2022 with a total of 155 Champion Fragments available to be claimed.
Gaius the Gleeful is a new legendary grade Magic affinity champion from the Knights Revenant faction. He is listed in-game as an Attack based champion which means his abilities damage and damage scaling increase the more Attack stat he has. He is arguably one of the best fusion fragment champions for this year and Plarium has made sure his kit synergizes overall. He relies a lot on the Bomb mechanic as well as Chain Crowd controlling them with Sleeps as well. Bombs are a forgotten debuff in the high damage meta which is currently taking over in-game. That is because they are so easy to cleanse and detonate after 2 turns. However, Gaius the Gleeful has a cheeky mechanic where he can instantly detonate the bomb on a single target with his 3rd skill Explosive Wit. This synergizes with his 2nd skill which can put a Bomb debuff on all enemies with a 75% chance as well as a Sleep debuff for 1 turn with a 75% chance. We highly recommend players to go for this champion fusion event if you have the resources.
During this Fusion event, Plarium provides Fragments for the champion in multiple Events and Tournaments. Keep in mind that these events and tournaments will take a lot of your time if you’re going to manually play the game since Plarium only provides 30 instances of Auto-Battles per day. But don’t worry, you can easily bypass the hard grinding by simply using the BlueStacks macro recorder to record your runs and keep re-running it.
Gaius the Gleeful Skills
Gaius the Gleeful is an Attack based DPS-type champion from the Knights Revenant faction. His grade is legendary and we expected his stats to be worth the title. He has a great base Attack of 1586, HP of 15195, and Average Speed of 105. His high base attack proves to be great as his skill damage multipliers are good as well. His 1st skill Chuckling Sickles is a single targeted damaging skill that attacks the same enemy twice and states that if the enemy dies, then Gaius the Gleeful will get an extra turn. His 2nd skill Jester’s Remedy is his major skill and is an AOE control/debuffing skill that targets all enemies. It has a 75% chance of applying 2 stacks Bombs to the target for 2 turns and another 75% chance to inflict a Sleep debuff for 1 turn. The bombs automatically detonate after 2 turns.
Gaius the Gleeful’s 3rd skill Explosive Wit is a single targeted damaging skill that attacks the same enemy 2 times with the first hit detonating all the Bombs on the target and the second hit will bypass the Unkillable buff when dealing damage to the target. His passive ability Mad Bomber states that whenever an enemy attacks Gaius the Gleeful, he will get inflicted with a Bomb debuff which detonates after 2 turns. This effect only occurs once per hit. It also states that Gaius the Gleeful will instantly detonate all bombs on all enemies when he dies. We recommend players to build Gaius the Gleeful with Cruel, Perception, Offense, Accuracy, and Savage artifact sets with a focus on Attack%, Critical Hit Rate%, Critical Hit Damage%, Speed, and Accuracy.

Gaius the Gleeful Fusion Event Guide
Gaius the Gleeful can be obtained by participating in the Fragment Fusion event hosted by Plarium which starts on 19th April 2022. By Fragment fusions, we mean that Gaius the Gleeful needs 100 of his champion fragments to be fused. These fragments can be found in various Events and Tournaments and can be achieved in reaching certain milestones in them. Pretty simple, right? It is simple; however, we will give a detailed guide on how to manage your resources to obtain enough fragments to fuse Gaius the Gleeful.
We will now list the various events and tournaments through which you will be able to obtain these champion fragments.
Here is the list: –

Preparation for these Events and Tournaments
As we can see from the timings of these Events and Tournaments presented by Plarium, many of these coincide with each other. If you are confused by what some of the terms mean or where some of the locations of the dungeons and events are, here is a helpful guide. Now doing every event and tournament 1 by 1 will drain your resources very quickly, and you will be left with insufficient fragments to fuse Gaius the Gleeful. You might need to spend gems to refill energy for completing the remaining events and tournaments.
This is where efficient planning and using your resources judiciously comes in. In this guide, we will give you all the essential tips and tricks to help you in your journey of fusing the legendary champion Gaius the Gleeful. Energy and Silver will be your 2 biggest resources, and if you have enough of these saved up, things will go more smoothly for you. But if you don’t have them stored don’t fret, we are here for you! Take a look at our preparation process for Gaius the Gleeful Fusion here: –
19th April – 3rd May:
- Fire Knight Tournament: 5 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at 2250 Points)
- Artifact Enhancement Event Part 1: 5 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at 3300 Points each)
Fire Knight tournament is usually pretty straightforward and requires players to farm the Fire Knight dungeon repeatedly. The best and most energy-efficient stage to farm would be Stage 20 of Fire Knights. Players get points according to the Star rating and the quality of the artifacts obtained from the stages. At a goal of 2250 Points only, players can get the champion fragments easily if they farm Stage 20 of Fire Knights at least 140 times. This will roughly consume 2250 energy. We highly recommend waiting a day for the Dungeon Divers event to start as you can easily get points for both the event as well as the tournament just by farming Fire Knights dungeon.
This event is again very straightforward but can drain a lot of your silver reserves. If you were not prepared, then you might have to spend your precious energy to farm silver coins for upgrading your equipment. Here are a few tips to achieve those 2625 points: –
- You can pre-roll your artifacts till Lvl 7/11/15 and then simply spend silver to upgrade to the next level as you get points only after upgrading artifacts to LVL 4,8,12 and 16 with the highest points being given at 6-star LVL 16 artifact upgrades.
- You can level up 3 6-Star artifacts to level 16 to easily complete this event in a go
- Save up to roughly 6 million silver per artifact enhancement event, as this amount is roughly what it takes to complete these events.
However, if you have enough silver or artifacts upgraded to a certain level, then feel free to use them to complete this event. It also takes a lot of time because the general upgrading speed for artifacts is very slow, and it fails many times as well. However, if you use BlueStacks Eco mode, you can significantly speed up this process and save so much time!
- Dungeon Divers Event Part 1: 10 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at 4450 Points each)
Dungeon Divers event is starting just 1 day after the Fire Knights tournament started and hence, they coincide with each other. This makes us move to our next tip and that is, when a dungeon divers event and dungeon tournament coincide with each other, always farm the tournament to get points for both the event as well as the tournament. Both require players to get artifacts and the better the quality and grade, the more points the player receives.
- Champion Training Event Part 1: 15 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at 3500/9350 Points)
Champion Training Events are all about leveling up your champions, promoting the ranks of your champions, and ascending your champions. For champion training events, make sure to have lots of resources like potions, and fodder for ranking up champions as well as energy/brews for leveling up champions. This event is extremely grindy and can take a lot of your resources if you weren’t prepared beforehand. The Champion Training event can be completed by farming the campaign mode! However, it does help if you have some resources like chickens and brews saved up in preparation for this event. Always remember to level up your chickens for extra points with brews before using them to promote your champions. Always make sure to not use brews on high-level champions as the XP gained per brew decreases drastically at higher levels.
- Spider Tournament: 5 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at 2250 Points)
- Classic Arena Takedown Tournament Part 1: 5 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at X Points)
Spider tournament requires players to farm the Spider’s Den dungeon repeatedly to get artifacts and the higher the grade and quality of the artifacts acquired, the higher the points received for the tournament. This also coincides with the running Dungeon divers event. Hence, if you have not completed either of them, then farm Spider Stage 20 repeatedly to get points for both the event and tournament.
Classic Arena Takedown tournaments are quite simple as their main aim is for the players to win in the Classic Arena. They will be rewarded with points according to the tier they are in the Arena. The point requirement will also be adjusted according to the tier the player is in the Arena. Note that players will only get points if they win the battles and not if they lose. Use all your Classic Arena tokens wisely and only take part in battles you think you can win. Wait some time to refresh the current list if you don’t feel confident in winning the matches.
- Summon Rush Event: 20 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at X/X Points)
Summon Rush event is very straightforward, the more you summon the more points you get. The quality of shards also hampers the number of points you get. The quality of champions, however, does not affect the number of points obtained in this event. Here are the points received depending on the shard: –
Mystery Shard: 1 Point
Ancient Shard: 20 Points
Void Shard: 100 Points
Sacred Shard: 500 Points
We recommend going for at least the first milestone for 5 fragments because the total number of fragments available is 115 excluding the ones available from tournament leader boards. You can extend till the 2nd milestone depending on how many shards you have. If you feel you do not have enough quality shards, then save for the 1st milestone of the coming Champion Chase Tournament. Keep in mind that this Summon rush will be coinciding with a 10x targeted champion rate-up event so it might be a good idea to summon if you feel the champions in the rate-up list are valuable to you.
- Artifact Enhancement Event Part 2: 5 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at X Points)
- Champion Training Tournament: 5 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at X Points)
Artifact Enhancement events are always the same – MORE SILVER! At this point, you might have farmed a lot more during the dungeon-related events and tournaments and have a huge corpus of silver by selling the useless artifacts. This silver can now come to use to level up the artifacts you desire. The higher the grade and quality of the artifact being leveled, the higher points the players can get.
Champion Training tournament is exactly the same as the Champion training event but in a tournament format. These are all about leveling up your champions, promoting the ranks of your champions, and ascending your champions. As we said before, some basic tips for champion training events/tournaments are as follows:
- Always remember to level up your chickens before using them to promote your champions.
- Do not waste brews to level up champions who are already at a high level as the efficiency of brews decreases drastically if used on high-level champions.
- Use Mystery shards to generate more fodder if you are out of low-rank champions.
- Dragon Tournament: 5 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at X Points)
- Dungeon Divers Event Part 2: 5 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at X Points)
Luckily, both these tournaments and event coincide with each other and the golden rule for these collisions is to farm the tournament first to get points for both the event and tournament. Dragon tournament can be farmed at Stage 20 roughly 140 times to gain 2250 points which are going to be the point requirement for this tournament as seen by previous milestones of dungeon related tournaments.
- Classic Arena Takedown Tournament Part 2: 5 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at X Points)
Classic Arena takedown tournament gets the same treatment as usual and acts as a breather between the heavy events and tournaments. They just require the players to have a solid Arena offense team and win the battles. As usual, use the daily arena tokens as well as the ones available from completing the daily quests. The tier you are in Arena also matters a lot as a player in the bronze tier will earn fewer points per win than a player in the Silver/Gold tier.
- Champion Chase Tournament: 15 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at X/X Points)
Champion Chase tournament are a great source of mystery as they can make or break the player’s whole fusion event rhythm. That is because they are entirely dependent on your luck and RNG. These tournaments require players to summon high-quality champions like epic and legendary using any Shard. They value champions more than the quality of shards used, unlike Summon Rush event. These are extremely useful when you know that you are near your pity in any shard summons. Do not gamble greatly and we recommend players to for the lower point requirement. Go all the way if you feel you are near pity or have an ample number of shards.
- Ice Golem Tournament: 5 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at X Points)
- Dungeon Divers Event Part 3: 5 Gaius the Gleeful Fragments (Obtained at X Points)
Finally, the last 2 events and tournament are none other than our favorite dungeon-related duos. Players can easily complete both the event as well as the tournament if they focus just on the Ice Golem tournament first. Players can farm Stage 20 of the Ice Golem dungeon repeatedly over 140 times to achieve the target goal of 2250 points. This endeavor will consume roughly 2250 energy. Players can farm campaign stages as well for the remaining point requirement to complete Dungeon divers event.
These are the last events and tournaments to complete the fusion event and players can further fuse Gaius the Gleeful by going to the summon screen -> Champion Fragments.
