The latest update, version 7.40.0, for RAID: Shadow Legends introduces exciting new features and improvements. Players can now participate in the Hydra Clash competition, battle the Demon Lord Clan Boss with the Quick Battle option, and engage in new Clan vs. Clan Tournament Objectives. Additionally, the patch includes a rebalance of the Hydra Gear Sets, enhancements to Protection and Stone Skin Sets, and the addition of Champion lore stories.
In this article, we will delve deeper into each of these changes, exploring their mechanics, rewards, and impact on the overall gameplay experience.
Hydra Clash: A Test of Clan Might
The Hydra Clash is an exciting new competition that brings a fresh level of challenge and camaraderie to RAID: Shadow Legends. In this event, five clans compete against each other to deal the most damage to the fearsome Hydra, an ancient and formidable creature. The competition runs for a week and is closely tied to the Hydra’s weekly cycles.
To take part in the Hydra Clash, clans must meet specific criteria. A clan should consist of at least ten players who are level 45 or higher and have earned a minimum of 50 Clan Activity Stars in the seven days leading up to the Hydra Clash event. Additionally, players intending to participate in the competition must belong to a clan that satisfies these conditions and have achieved level 45 themselves.
During the event, players earn Clash Points by dealing damage to the Hydra. The amount of Clash Points earned depends on the damage dealt and the difficulty level of the Hydra battle. The first Key spent on each difficulty during the Hydra Clash grants a multiplier to the Clash Points earned, ranging from x1 on Normal to x4 on Nightmare.
To spice things up, players have a chance to earn powerful rewards if their clan finishes in the top three and they individually earn at least 35 million Clash Points. The rewards incentivize teamwork and motivate players to push their limits in combat.
While most of the features of this new mode are already established and ready to deploy, Hydra Clash will first have a “soft launch” where only the top 3,000 clans will be able to participate, assuming they meet the requirements. After this initial rollout, the feature will be made available to the rest of the playerbase.
Quick Battle – Streamlining Demon Lord Encounters
In response to player feedback, the developers have introduced the Quick Battle feature for the Demon Lord Clan Boss. This option allows players to engage in battles without watching the entire fight play out in real-time. It caters to those who prefer a more streamlined and time-efficient experience while still reaping the rewards of battling the formidable Demon Lord.
To unlock Quick Battle for each difficulty level, players must deal a set amount of damage using a single Demon Lord Key. The required damage is equivalent to the amount needed to obtain the highest-value Demon Lord Chest for that particular difficulty. Once unlocked, Quick Battle becomes available for that difficulty as well as all the difficulties below it. Players can unlock this feature for multiple difficulties simultaneously.
During Quick Battles, team presets and general Demon Lord battle mechanics remain the same as in Auto mode. Players have no control over the battle once it begins, letting the AI take the reins. This feature allows players to efficiently farm Demon Lord battles while freeing up time for other in-game activities.
New Clan vs. Clan Tournament Objectives
The Clan vs. Clan Tournaments in RAID: Shadow Legends just got more exciting with the introduction of new tournament objectives. The three new objectives are Sand Devil, Phantom Shogun, and Iron Twins. Additionally, two new objective categories have been introduced: Perfect Souls for Champion Objectives and Ascend Artifacts & Accessories for Gear Objectives.
These new objectives add fresh challenges and diversity to the Clan vs. Clan Tournaments, motivating players to explore different strategies and approaches to claim victory. Furthermore, Tiers I to VI (both Clan Tiers and Personal Tiers) have been expanded to include more clans and players, promoting greater competition and fostering a more inclusive tournament experience for players of all skill levels.
Hydra Gear Sets Rebalance – Enhancing Protections and Stone Skin
In the 7.40.0 update, Plarium Games has implemented some minor balance changes to two of the Hydra Gear Sets: Protection and Stone Skin. These sets are crucial for enhancing a champion’s survivability and effectiveness in various game modes, and the adjustments aim to improve their overall performance.
Protection Set
The updated Protection Set now provides even stronger protection to champions and their allies on the battlefield. When equipped with the full 9-piece set, champions gain a substantial 40 Resistance (RES) and an additional 15% boost to their maximum Health (HP). Additionally, champions in possession of this set have an impressive 32% increase in Speed (SPD). Moreover, the set’s unique effect now grants a 75% chance of protecting buffs cast by the wearer. Notably, allies who receive buffs from the wearer will deal 5% more damage for each active buff on them. This revamped set encourages players to focus on managing buffs effectively and strategically, leading to more potent and impactful battles.
Stone Skin Set
With the latest update, the Stone Skin Set receives a considerable boost to its defensive capabilities. Champions equipped with the full 9-piece set now enjoy an impressive 80 Resistance (RES) and an increased 16% boost to their maximum Health (HP). Additionally, champions gain a solid 30% increase in Defense (DEF), making them even more resilient against incoming attacks. The Stone Skin set’s unique effect now grants champions a 50% chance to gain the Stone Skin buff at the start of each round. This buff has the added benefit of blocking removals or steals, providing vital protection to the wearer. Furthermore, the Stone Skin shield’s value has been enhanced with the 9-piece set. The updated Stone Skin Set offers champions improved survivability and resilience, making it an excellent choice for those seeking to bolster their team’s defenses in various challenging encounters.
The addition of new accessories for both sets further augments their potential, providing players with more customization options to suit various team compositions and playstyles. These enhancements aim to promote strategic diversity and empower players to tailor their champion builds for specific encounters and challenges.

In the 7.40.0 update, RAID: Shadow Legends introduces an exciting addition to the game’s lore with a batch of new Champion stories. Players can now delve into the background and histories of several champions, adding depth and richness to the game’s immersive fantasy world.
