Scarlet Girls Beginner's Guide – Build your Ultimate Squad of Dynamic 2D Girls
Scarlet Girls is a brand-new captivating Idle RPG that features an all-girl squad of mecha waifus that have been technologically enhanced to deliver powerful blows. The context of the game is set in the 119th year of the Old Euro Calendar, where several catastrophes mutated animals and gave rise to powerful beings that dominated humans and pushed them to the brink of extinction. As one of the last hopes of humanity, you must recruit and train these mecha girls to fend off against catastromechs and bring peace to Earth once again. This beginners guide sheds light on the core game mechanics and game modes set in place to enrich your account power and progression. Let’s begin!
Understanding the Combat Mechanics of Scarlet Girls
The core gameplay mechanics of Scarlet Girls are completely Idle based and a casual retreat for players who like to avoid manually battling their foes. The action occurs in a turn-based order wherein all enemies and allies take their turns according to their Speed stat. Each round gets completed when all the allies and enemies have taken their turns. Players can take 5 different characters in battles, and there are helpful features such as Quick Dispatch to automatically set your formations according to the strongest characters. Once set, players can simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the thrilling animations included with each character’s special ability.
Your characters, called “Stellaris” in official in-game terminology, have powerful active and passive abilities that they use in combat scenarios automatically. Each skill generally has a cooldown timer, and once used they go on cooldown for a specified number of turns. Players can craft powerful and synergized squads of mecha girls to take down enemies. The combat happens in real-time and players have no real way of interfering during the battle phase. All the strategy lies in how powerful your deployed characters are, and the line-ups you create to empower their strengths.
You can also find amazing quality-of-life (QOL) features such as 3X battle speed and skip battle options in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen during combat scenarios. The game boasts multiple different PvE and PvP game modes, but your focus as a beginner should be primarily on clearing the exploration mode chapters. This PvE-only game mode sees you travelling through the main story and fighting different catastromechs in different chapters. Each chapter constitutes of multiple stages, and players need to clear them to reach the final boss. Each stage clearance rewards you with tons of premium currency, gold,
AFK Rewards
Being an Idle game at its heart, Scarlet Girls also features a set of additional rewards called “AFK Rewards”. These rewards accumulated even when you’re not online or playing the game itself. As the name suggests, these are given to you regardless of your presence. They stack up to 12 hours, and players can claim them anytime from the exploration area on the left-hand side corner. The quality and quantity of these rewards depends on how far you have progressed in the exploration mode chapters.
Stellaris
Stellaris are the core playable girl characters that you can recruit from the innate gacha system of Scarlet Girls, called “Echo”. These characters are your core bread & butter when it comes to combat scenarios. Each of them possesses unique active and passive abilities that can be used in combat to vanquish enemies. Each Stellaris in the game is given an element type, according to which they react to enemies. This further deepens the strategic depth of the combat mechanics. The elements and their interactions are as follows:
- Void element is stronger against Inferno but weaker against Phantasm.
- Inferno element is stronger against Rancor but weaker against Void.
- Rancor element is stronger against Phantasm but weaker against Inferno.
- Phantasm element is stronger against Void but weaker against Rancor.
- Nebula element is neutral against all other elements.
Further, each stellaris is also assigned a class according to which their utility is measured. There are 4 core classes under which all the Stellaris come. They are as follows:
- Paladins – Possesses the strongest armor stat, serving as the primary target to draw enemy firepower and protect teammates.
- Support – The Stellaris with special healing and supportive abilities, tailored to provide utility from the backline.
- Devastator – The Stellaris specialized in manipulating heavy firepower, born to decimate enemies by dealing devastating energy damage.
- Assaulter – The Stellaris skilled in wielding bladed weapons, specializing in dealing physical damage to destroy and reap their targets.
Echo – The Gacha System of Scarlet Girls
We mentioned that you can recruit Stellaris from the gacha system in the previous section, but there is more depth to it. Each stellaris in the game comes in different rarities – R, SR, SSR, and SSR+. The higher the rarity of the Stellaris, the stronger they are considered due to higher base stats in terms of Attack, Defense, and HP. Higher rarity stellaris also have access to stronger abilities that can help change the tide of the game in your favor if used the right way. The Echo system is where you can get new and strong stellaris.
At the time of global launch, there is only 1 summoning banner called “Normal Echo” that offers R-SSR Stellaris. Players can use their accumulated Echo tickets or Diamonds to summon on the banner. An SSR character is guaranteed within 40 summons. Each summon made on the banner also grants the player 20 echo points. After reaching 2000 points, players can choose to summon a random SSR character from the 4 different elemental banners (excluding Nebula). You can check this progress on the right-hand side of the Echo system. The probability of recruiting different rarities of Stellaris are as follows:
- R Stellaris – 19.979% chance of being recruited (for each individual R character)
- SR Stellaris – 2.667% chance of being recruited (for each individual SR character)
- SSR Stellaris – 0.133% chance of being recruited (for each individual SSR character)
- SSR+ Stellaris – 0.010% chance of being recruited (for each individual SSR+ character)
