Survival Rush: Zombie Outbreak Beginners Guide and Helpful Tips
Survival Rush: Zombie Outbreak presents a unique worldview wherein the entire world is besieged by zombies during a plague. You, as a parkour master, decided to take on this menace and release the world from it’s worries! The game is reminiscent of old-school strategy-oriented adventure games where you face enemies that come in waves. In this beginner’s guide, we have provided some helpful tips on how to progress as a new player. We’ve also expanded on some crucial gameplay systems to better help you familiarize with the game.
Understanding the Gameplay Mechanics of Survival Rush: Zombie Outbreak
Perhaps the best way to tackle Survival Rush: Zombie Outbreak is by comparing it to marathon. You get little resources each day and you can improve your account day by day. As it is a live-service game, you can accumulate a lot of in-game resources by simply partaking in the daily missions and events. The core gameplay revolves around completing daily quests and upgrading your settlement. This settlement contains different types of buildings, each with their own uses. For example, you can recruit new heroes from the Hero Precint that you re-build during the tutorial phase.
Similarly, the Barracks allows you to train different types of troops to aid you in battles or against zombies during invasions. The core building that should be upgraded at all times is the “Headquarters”. It is the control center of your entire settlement, and once it falls, your territory can be lost. A lot of the buildings require you to reach a certain level of Headquarters in order to further upgrade them. You can upgrade the majority of the buildings via 2 in-game resources – Food and Wood. We will talk more about the resources later in the guide.
Understanding the Combat Mechanics of Survival Rush: Zombie Outbreak
The combat mechanics of Survival Rush: Zombie Outbreak are quite simple to learn and execute. The gameplay takes place in instanced stages wherein you can set up your team consisting of 3 heroes of your choice. You will be greeted with a challenge screen where you can observe the combat power of the enemy. On the left-hand side will be enemy CP and on the right-hand side will be your own CP. It’s recommended to take on fights where you are at an advantage. The actual gameplay is actually more hands-off than you would expect.
A virtual avatar of you and your heroes will be on the screen facing waves of zombies coming together. In the battle screen, you can move your squad left or right to avoid collisions, objects, and more. After each wave of zombies, 2 options providing buffs/debuffs will be started. You can move your squad towards the direction of whichever buff/debuff you want. These buffs/debuffs will only stay for the duration of the battle. At the end of all the waves, ideally a boss zombie should appear that will take some time to defeat. Strategize effectively by choosing the right heroes and buffs to wipe out all enemies.
