Sword of Convallaria is a strategic turn-based RPG that follows a more traditional JRPG style of combat. Players can embark on their very own magical adventures and create their own destiny using the cards of fate. The game starts off quite easy on the player, enabling them to grasp onto the basic gameplay mechanics via a thorough tutorial. However, it gets progressively hard, especially if you are not aware about how these strategy games work. This guide will provide you with some helpful tips and tricks to set you up for a smooth start!

Tip #1. Focusing on the Main Story

One of the best pieces of advice any player can give you to streamline your progression would be to simply clear the story mode as far as you possibly can. It’s imperative that you complete them to unlock certain quality-of-life features such as 2x battle speed and auto battles. Additionally, you will also unlock new areas of gameplay in the form of new PvE and PvP game modes. The farther you travel in the storyline, the progressively harder it will get. 

Ensure to read up on the mission objectives and the enemies coming in the particular stage before you start the match. The stages follow a 3-star system wherein players are given a star for each objective fulfilled. Getting 3-star at a stage allows you to earn some extra premium currency called “Hope Luxite”. 

Tip #2. Rerolling is Important

Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a newbie, re-rolling is extremely important for a strong start in Sword of Convallaria. The game boasts a variety of strong heroes upon release, especially the 5-stars. If you manage to get a 5-Star early on in the game, you’re pretty much set for the initial difficulty. This is because the game has a new player gacha banner which guarantees you a 5-star hero in 30 summons. If you manage to get one 5-star hero via re-rolling, then you can get another one for free in the next 30 summons. 

The re-rolling process is quite easy in Sword of Convallaria, as it features the use of guest accounts. Simply create a guest account and complete the initial tutorial until you unlock the gacha/summoning system. Post this, claim all the rewards from your mailbox, quests, and events. Summon on the current rate-up banner and try your luck to get the featured 5-star hero. If you are unable to do so, simply clear data of that account and re-start the process. Alternatively, you can also make use of BlueStacks Multi-Instance Manager to simultaneously re-roll on multiple instances at a time and save a ton of time!

Tip #3. Summoning Strong Heroes

Perhaps this goes without saying but you will be much better off with a robust roster of strong heroes. Sword of Convallaria is a gacha game wherein players can summon using their collected currencies on multiple banners. Each banner is unique, and features different heroes to summon. The rate of getting the highest rarity heroes (5-star) is quite low at 2% but it’s not abysmally low as in other games.

Each hero offers multiple unique active and passive abilities to use in combat scenarios. Additionally, each of them is prescribed a specific role in the team. For example, Defenders are better suited to be in the frontlines and take damage for your team. Maitha, a free 5-Star hero, is a good example of such a hero. 

Tip #4. Upgrading your Heroes 

After you’re finished with deciding your final roster of heroes, it’s time to upgrade them. Upgrading heroes in Sword of Convallaria can be done via several processes. The primary one is to simply level them up and increase their base stats. Players can increase the level of heroes by either taking them in battles and granting them EXP or by artificially feeding them EXP by utilizing Common EXP. You will earn a lot of the latter as you progress through the main story stages.

The game can get progressively harder and your hero’s power level needs to be at par with them if you want a shot at clearing the mobs of enemies spawning. You can also upgrade your heroes stats by equipping them with strong gear sets that compliment their utility. For example, Defender type heroes can greatly benefit by equipping them with gear having defense and HP. 

Tip #5. Add More Friends

The friend system in Sword of Convallaria is very useful for early game players. You can add friends at the click of a button. After they accept you as a friend, players can use their featured heroes. Generally, adding higher level/stronger friends is recommended since you can use their heroes in battle. 

If they are at a higher level then you, then their heroes are supposedly also stronger and can help you clear the main story. Further, the gifting feature allows players to send and receive a currency called “Proof of Reputation”. You can use this currency in the Reputation store to get items such as Common EXP, Elysium Coin, and more.
