Understanding the Gameplay Mechanics

At its core, The Elder Scrolls: Castles is a kingdom simulator that allows players to create their very own kingdom and manage the intricacies revolving around day-to-day operations. The game provides players with many unique elements, like the ability to develop the complete castle, make key decisions, and much more. Players can also build their lavish castle by assembling specific sets of furniture.

Further, the building and decoration aspects are only glorified as players can even build floors, chambers, and stairs so that citizens have access to the entire castle. Players can easily construct necessary furnishings such as oil presses, kitchens, looms, quest maps, bedrooms, shrines, and many more using in-game resources like wood, steel, and limestone. Players may readily obtain these in-game commodities using specific furnishings, such as a mill.

Players can even control the lives of people who remain in the castle. For example, players can send a boy and a girl to a shrine to get married. After marriage, players can help the new couple have a child for the kingdom by sending them to the shrine. If you’re a warmonger, good news for you as players can send up to 3 villagers to war by assigning them in the castle. Players can even assist neighbouring kingdoms and nomads moving through the kingdom. There are also dozens of activities to pursue and play around with to pass time and interact with the game elements. 

Build Your Own Castle

The Castle will most likely be the first thing players entering the game will see. Consider it like headquarters in other life simulator games. This is the area from where players can control every other aspect of the game. Players have access to the full castle, its inhabitants, laborers, and all other in-game elements. This screen allows players to allocate works to specific locations in the castle. For example, if a person is unemployed, players can simply tap and drag that person to locations with work tables and force them to do the work.

Players can also press the character card to assign them to the appropriate task table. Every character has some talents and knowledge about a specific work table, thus it would be advantageous if the players assigned them to that table solely. Other characters can be allocated in a similar manner.

Quests

The questing system in The Elder Scrolls: Castles is quite elaborate in nature. Majority of the quests are combat related and players will need to send out villagers that wield a weapon to deal with the enemies. The combat mechanics are quite simple and the entire gameplay is automated for the ease of player. The only strategy involved is in the team-building stage wherein you can carefully choose which characters you want to deploy in the assigned quest. The conquest game mode is the primary combat related content. The same mechanics apply here as well. 

Another important mechanic to note about while doing combat is that you can choose the target that your characters will focus down first. This will help you defeat more enemies in less time. Each combat quest will demand the player to fulfill 3 tasks, post which the stage will be deemed clear. The rewards are also generous as they give out tons of EXP for the account and other important resources.  

Order

Order is essentially a trading system where players can simply exchange their food and oil for some of the missions. Completing these orders is the primary method to effortlessly obtain Gold. Gold is a very important in-game currency. Thus, players may quickly fulfill provided orders and earn tons of Gold. Remember that trade orders are repeated at regular intervals after they are executed. As a result, players must be patient and wait many hours before receiving new orders. 

Explore and Enhance Multiple Buildings

Buildings play a major role in the game. In this area, players can construct furnishings and work tables for the castle. Even the floors and staircases can be built from here. Gold, wood, and limestone are the primary resources required to set up the work table in the game. The game provides a number of work tables that are really useful in going through the game.
