Tokyo Ghoul：Break The Chains by Komoe Technology is a brand-new card-based RPG that is based on the famous IP of Tokyo Ghoul. This game immerses players in a dark, twisted world where Ghouls hunt humanity. You play Ken Kaneki, a young guy who, due to an unfortunate accident, transforms into a half-ghoul. Understanding the Combat Mechanics of Tokyo Ghoul: Break The Chains

To make it clear, the combat of Tokyo Ghoul : Break The Chains is turn-based and players will be strategizing a lot to gain the upper hand. All teams have a cumulative number called “CP” (Combat Power) that is assigned to them. Be it the enemy or your team, everybody has CP. The team with the higher CP is allowed to go first, hence, having a higher CP should be your priority. The combat happens in a card-based style where all the abilities of your characters are displayed in the form of cards. Cards also have a level assigned to them. Merging cards of the same level allow them to upgrade and have increased utility. 

Cards can be merged manually or automatically as they move from left to right in order. Ensure to use this strategy to get upgraded abilities in combat and dish out tons of damage! Once the cards are chosen, players can also re-set if they feel they have a better move to play. Do not worry, not everything is manual. The game does support some basic quality-of-life features such as 2X battle speed and auto-battle to make the grind easier. You just need to progress in the story mode to unlock these features. 

At the start of the combat, the player will be handed a skill card at random. The player can provide 2 to 4 commands per round, depending on the number of alive characters in the line. During the combat, the player can use the skill card and move it around. The action number is determined by the number of characters in the line who are alive. Moving the skill card will consume one instruction.

During the combat, two identical skill cards can be combined into a higher-level one. The fundamental level of a skill card is one star; two one-star cards can be combined to create one two-star card, and so on. The maximum level of a talent card is three stars. There’s also a new mechanic called “Kaguya” activation. Players can acquire energy for this ultimate ability by doing damage, taking damage, or by using energy cards. You can also get energy by simply merging cards either manually or automatically. Once full at 100, players can simply click the kaguya to activate and deal  massive damage.

Main Story – The Main story mode in Tokyo Ghoul: Break the Chains allows players to relive the plot events of the anime series Tokyo Ghoul, recalling them as per the original timeline.  Playing through this mode is vital since it gives players a lot of EXP to level up quickly and rewards per chapter, which will help them develop and recruit additional characters, which will be required for taking on the game’s harsher tasks.

Combat Mode – The Combat Mode in Tokyo Ghoul: Break the Chains is the main mode, which includes various key modes. Characters

Characters make up the core combat system of Tokyo Ghoul: Break The Chains. By clicking on this tab, players would be able to view all of their owned characters. Players can recruit new characters from the Recruit option that inherits a gacha-based system. All characters are given a base rarity that determines their core stats. The higher the rarity, the stronger the character (Tier List) is considered due to superior stat line and abilities. Getting the highest rarity characters can be a tough task as the rates are horrible. 

Quests

The Quest option contains the Main quest and Daily quest elements. Daily quests are missions that you must accomplish to receive prizes. These tasks renew every day, and you can earn milestone rewards based on how many quests you accomplish in a single day.
