Tower of God: New World – Top 5 Mistakes to Avoid in Early Game
Tower of God: New World is a 3D real-time strategy game that allows players to collect and train multiple characters from the famed Tower of God IP. The game has a ton of engaging PvE and PvP content for players to choose from. While many of you might be familiar with the game mechanics, you may be making some crucial mistakes unintentionally. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a new player or an experienced veteran, these core mistakes will definitely cost you a lot of time and effort in the long run. Check them out! Why wait? Mistake #1. Do not Waste Resources on Early Game Heroes
Tower of God: New World has a bunch of heroes. Each hero is assigned a base rarity. The higher the rarity, the stronger the heroes are generally. Many players waste a lot of time and resources by investing them into weaker heroes that you receive at the beginning of the game. While these heroes can carry you till some extent in the early game, they falter off hard in the mid-late game.
The same scenario may repeat if you wait too long and halt your progress until you get an SSR+ hero. The game has an in-built rate-up feature that allows you to select SSR rarity heroes that you desire. Our recommendation would be to select these 5 heroes and add them to your team:
- Yihwa Yeon (SSR)
- Hoaqin (SSR)
- Hwaryun Red Mask (SSR)
- Khun Aguero (SSR)
- Endorsi (SSR)
Mistake #2. Upgrading Shinsu Links of Only 1 Element
Shinsu Links are the primary means by which your heroes can get more stats while doing nothing. These are passive perks that you can unlock to increase your power levels. Shinsu Links are essentially the connections between your heroes. Each of the game’s elements has its own Shinsu Link tree. Many new players primarily focus on upgrading shinsu connections for a single element, leaving other elemental heroes well behind in terms of stats. This method works great if you want to form a mono-element team, but not for a diversified elemental squad.
Mistake #3. Not Focusing on Proficiency and Exclusive Equipment
Oftentimes, players can forget that there are multiple ways to make your heroes stronger outside of levelling them up and upgrading shinsu links. One such avenue for growth is by simply building greater and deeper bonds with your heroes. The game boasts a unique proficiency system that allows players to bond with their heroes and get more affinity with them, contributing to a higher bond level.
Upgrading the bond level with heroes leads you to a greater set of free rewards on top of unlocking the ability to get their exclusive equipment. Some other stuff like emotes, and voice lines can also be unlocked doing so. Once you reach level 10 proficiency with any hero, you will be able to get their exclusive equipment for free. An exclusive equipment can enhance the overall stats of the hero while also boosting their abilities.
Mistake #4. Prioritizing Only DPS Heroes
Yes, you do require a mix of damage to be able to take on the challenging content in Tower of God: New World. But, focusing all your resources into 1 class of heroes is not recommended. Your DPS heroes will quite easily die off on the battlefield if they don’t have a tank and support to consistently mitigate damage and heal them. It’s imperative that players take a balanced approach while building their core team. You should have a maximum of 2 DPS heroes in your team. These heroes can be ranged, warriors, mages, etc. Bring up at least 1 Tank hero and 1-2 Support heroes in the team to make it a perfect squad.
Mistake #5. Do not Fall for the Normal Store Item Trap
You may be familiar with the Normal Store, a business that sells a variety of lucrative things at outrageous costs. That’s the catch; it’s created for lazy gamers who can’t wait a few days or hours and want the item right away. The item’s cost cannot be justified by any player. Finally, while purchasing any item from the Normal Store is entirely up to you, it can have a substantial negative impact on your gold economy. Naturally, as a live-service idle game, resources are restricted. However, players can use a highly effective resource management playstyle to reduce impulsive purchases.
