Beginner’s Guide for Township - The Best Tips, Tricks, and Strategies for Newcomers
Township is a hyper casual game developed by the team at Playrix, the studio behind other popular casual titles like Gardenscapes, Homescapes, and Manor Matters, to name a few. This time around, instead of completing match-3 puzzles to renovate or otherwise decorate a facility, you’re actually in charge of your very own town and its development, which can perhaps make it a bit more involved than the others.
In Township, your goal is both to produce raw materials as well as process them to create a variety of goods, all in the name of furthering the development of your very own town. As you gather more resources, you’ll be able to construct new buildings to produce an even wider assortment of goods, as well as unlock new raw materials to farm and generate. In this sense, the more you play, the more complex your town will get, but you’ll also be able to manufacture a wider array of goods to make even more money, which can then be further funneled into your town’s growth.
Even though Township is a casual title with very straightforward gameplay, there are still some things you need to learn if you want to develop your town as efficiently as possible. And considering that you get total freedom to work on your town as early as a few minutes into the game, your input is quite important as it will determine the rate at which you can progress in the game.
With that being said, in this beginner’s guide, you’ll find several tips and tricks for newcomers to Township so that you can start your task on the right track without wasting any time.
Play on BlueStacks to Automate Production
Despite being quite easy to play, Township has tons of repetitive tasks that you’ll constantly need to do in order to fulfill requests, produce materials, and grow your town. This repetition, while quite easy to handle, can sometimes become a bit tedious, especially if you’re pressed for time and simply want to get the basic chores out of the way.
Luckily, you can install and play Township on PC with BlueStacks, and enjoy everything that this game has to offer, from the comfort of your personal computer.
There are quite a few benefits to playing Township on BlueStacks, especially when it comes to developing your town efficiently and reducing the grind by automating certain repetitive tasks. However, even if you don’t use any of the special tools and features that our emulator offers, you’ll still be playing Township on PC, on a large computer monitor instead of a cramped phone screen, and with mouse and keyboard control instead of their clunky touchscreen counterparts. Not to mention that, if you’re among the 60% of global users whose phones are not really suited for gaming, you’ll get much better performance and graphics by playing on BlueStacks These aspects alone would be enough to convince some users to play their favorite mobile games on PC.
However, BlueStacks is so much more than that as our emulator offers a variety of tools and elements to help improve your gameplay. Specifically, when it comes to repetitive tasks in Township like growing crops or producing certain goods, you can completely automate them with the Macro Recorder feature. In this sense, instead of having to go through all the trouble of growing crops, harvesting them, and then turning your produce into manufactured goods step by step, you can simply press a single button and let BlueStacks handle it.
And just like with the Macro Recorder, BlueStacks has several other tools that you could use to enhance your experience with Township. Give it a try, we promise you’ll love it.
Producing Raw Materials
Now that you are enjoying Township on your PC and with the best performance and tools at your disposal, we can go ahead and talk about the game properly.
Most of the stuff you can produce in your town to generate revenue is created using raw materials. These materials are produced in some of the most basic buildings. For example, corn, wheat, carrots, and other types of produce are grown in farms. Meanwhile, other products like milk are obtained from the cowshed, by feeding your cows and waiting a few minutes before being able to milk them.
Like produce and milk, there are other types of raw materials in Township, which you’ll need to keep a steady supply of in order to continue producing more goods and making more money, which in turn will speed up your growth. Luckily, procuring these materials is as easy as making a few clicks and then waiting for a timer to finish, which is why it’s so easy to automate these activities with the Macro Recorder.
Manufacturing Goods From Raw Materials
Just like with raw materials, producing goods is done with just a few simple clicks. However, in contrast with farming and harvesting crops, you’ll need to put a bit more thought into what goods to produce, at least at the beginning. This is because you require materials in order to manufacture goods, and you won’t have such a large supply of these raw items if you’re just starting out.
As a general rule of thumb, if you’re just beginning in Township, only produce the goods you need as per the villager requests in your map. Keep in mind, however, that some of these requests will also include raw materials, so it’s doubly worth it to always keep your facilities producing raw items, whether or not you plan to use them immediately.
Gold and Cash, And How to Acquire Them
Of course, most of your infrastructure in Township won’t come for free. All the new buildings you’ll need to construct in your labor to develop your town into a sprawling metropolis will have to be paid for in gold. This currency is the main form of payment for most of the goods in the game; you’ll need it to pay for most of your buildings, and you’ll receive it mostly from completing tasks or achieving milestones.
Cash, on the other hand, is much rarer and difficult to get, especially since the main form of acquiring it is by paying real money. This makes cash the premium currency in Township, and can be used to procure many benefits, including speeding up building projects, speeding up the harvest of raw materials, and purchasing extra production slots in manufacturing facilities like the bakery, to name a few.
Luckily, you can also get cash for free in limited quantities by completing certain tasks in the game. For this reason, we recommend saving up what little of this currency that you get for free, and use it only when strictly necessary.
The Build Menu
While you begin your journey with a few buildings already constructed, you will need to place new structures as your town develops, which in turn will grant you access to a wider variety of goods and raw materials.
Most of these buildings can be found through the build menu, which is represented by the helmet icon on the bottom right of your screen. These structures are divided into several categories, with the most useful being houses, factories, and farming, with the community buildings also being relevant at moments. And along with their portraits, you’ll also be able to check the requirements for unlocking and constructing these buildings through this menu.
A good sign that your village is developing adequately is your access to more complex buildings and structures. In this sense, make sure to always check this menu whenever you reach a milestone, just to make sure you don’t have any structures left unbuilt.
Villager Requests
The most reliable way to get funds and experience early on is by checking your world map to find the list of pending requests from your citizens. This map is accessed through the heliport building, and can contain numerous pins from various townspeople that are asking for certain goods. By producing the said goods and fulfilling their requests, you’ll get a bit of gold, as well as experience.
While the gold is always a welcome addition, experience is just as important as it helps you to level up, which in turn will give you access to more buildings and raw materials. In this sense, one of the most important parts of growing in Township is to frequently check the map and fulfill any and all pending requests.
The Key to Growth is Productivity
There really aren’t any shortcuts when it comes to progressing in Township. And while this game is designed to provide a relaxing experience that doesn’t require much in the way of skill or commitment, it’s the most diligent players the ones who will progress the fastest. In this sense, always keep your buildings producing raw materials, and always check your villager requests in order to expedite your progress.
Keep in mind that these tasks refresh often so you’ll rarely be without anything to do. And even if you are, it’s always a good idea to continue producing raw materials so that you can fulfill these requests as fast as possible whenever they pop up. A good idea here is to build more production buildings as soon as they’re available. This means getting more fields, an extra cowshed, and so on, to ensure that you’re always producing as many raw materials as you can.
