Character Stats in Zenless Zone Zero

Stats refer to the value/potency of each attribute affiliated with all character/agents in Zenless Zone Zero. Each agent has a unique combination of base stats that can be increased further by strengthening them and equipping them with strong gear. Players can customize their Agents to perform well in areas they excel at. The stats and their meaning are as follows:

  • Attack: The amount of damage caused by a character’s attacks. A greater ATK stat translates to more damage every hit, which is critical for quickly killing foes.
  • Defense: Reduces the amount of damage a character receives from enemy attacks. Characters with great defense are less likely to be beaten fast, giving them more time on the field to conduct actions.
  • Health (HP): HP represents the total amount of damage a character may take before being knocked out. High HP is essential for characters who must endure a lot of damage, particularly those functioning as front-liners on your team.
  • Impact: Indicates how much Daze an attack adds to an enemy’s meter. Higher Impact increases the rate at which you may stun adversaries, making it an important stat for managing the flow of combat.
  • Critical Rate: This is the likelihood that an attack will cause critical damage, which deals much more damage than a typical hit. Increasing this stat increases your chances of landing critical hits.
  • Critical Damage: Increases the damage multiplier for critical hits. When combined with a high CRIT Rate, a high Crit DMG can significantly boost a character’s damage output during critical hits.
  • PEN: Provides a flat reduction in the enemy’s armor value during an attack, supplementing the PEN Ratio by ensuring that some damage completely bypasses defenses.
  • PEN Ratio: The PEN Ratio represents the percentage of an enemy’s armor that is ignored when assaulting. This stat is critical for delivering effective damage to strongly armored enemies.
  • Energy Regen: Controls how quickly a character’s energy bar regenerates during combat. Energy is required for executing skills and EX skills; hence a higher regeneration rate can considerably improve a character’s capacity to employ these strong moves more frequently.
  • Anomaly Rate Bonus: Increases how well a character applies elemental or other attribute effects to their attacks. This is critical for strategies based on swiftly stacking these effects for maximum impact.
  • Attribute Mastery: Increases the damage inflicted by Attribute Anomalies, which are special conditions attached to certain attacks, comparable to elemental effects in other games.

Character Elements in Zenless Zone Zero

Much like any other RPG title in the market, Zenless Zone Zero also involves an element system. Each agent or enemy is assigned an element according to which they react to their foes in battle. Elements have an innate attribute anomaly that characters are able to utilize with their abilities. These are as follows:

ELEMENT ATTRIBUTE ANOMALY
Fire Burn
Electric Shock
Ice Shatter
Physical Assault
Ether Corrupted

Fire: Fire element agents excel at dealing continuous damage over time, wreaking havoc on their opponents with explosive attacks. Dealing fire damage to foes increases the Fire Attribute Anomaly, which activates the Burn effect. The burn effect inflicts continual fire damage and immobilizes organic opponents.

Electric: Electric element agents use speed and agility to dominate the battlefield, startling and disorienting their opponents with their attacks. Agents with this Zenless Zone Zero element can activate the Shock effect, which increases Electric damage and disrupts enemy operations, particularly against robotic enemies.

Ice: Ice element agents may freeze or slow down foes and build barriers, making them invaluable in combat. The Shatter effect is activated when enough Ice Attribute Anomaly is gathered, restricting enemy mobility and dealing Ice Damage.

Physical: Physical element agents focus on brute strength and martial skill.Agents with this trait excel at dealing direct, heavy damage and breaching opponent defenses. Their abilities cause the Assault effect, which interrupts enemy activities and deals tremendous Physical Damage. It also enhances the duration of the target’s Daze.

Ether: Ether element agents, like those with other Zenless Zone Zero elements, have considerable combat usefulness, having the ability to deal damage as well as give support. When they accumulate the Ether Attribute Anomaly, they activate the Corruption effect, which enhances damage to targets and can disrupt energy-based adversaries.

Character Abilities

Each character/agent harbors 3 distinct types of attacks, usually seen in their basic attacks. They are as follows:

  • Slash
  • Pierce
  • Strike

Understanding the difference about each of them is crucial if you’re looking to decipher the combat mechanics and become an expert. The core difference between each type of basic attack is in the type of damage they do. These attacks can change and inflict different effects depending on the type of elements your character has.

How to Increase the Strength of your Characters in Zenless Zone Zero?

There are several power-up systems or processes set in place for players to increase the strength of their characters in Zenless Zone Zero. Here’s a brief description about each of them:

  • Levelling Up: Players can increase the level of their agents by taking them to battles and providing them with sufficient experience. Alternatively, you can also use Investigator Logs to directly give experience to agents and level them up. This method allows Agents to get direct additives in their base stats.
  • Ascension: After reaching a certain level, your agents will hit a level cap. Post this, players will need to ascend them by inputting the required materials. A direct increase in some base stats occurs whenever you ascend an agent.
  • Skills: Much like levels, skills of agents can also be upgraded to increase their potency. Their value increases while their cooldown decreases.
  • Talents: Zenless Zone Zero exhibits a unique talent system that you might see in some MMORPG games. Using this, players can grant their Agents some exclusive passive effects that trigger in combat scenarios. Keep in mind, you can only increase an agent’s talent when you acquire their duplicates via the gacha system.
  • Disk Drives: Disk Drives are an integral part of the larger gearing system in Zenless Zone Zero. You can add important stats to your agent by equipping them. Disk Drives come in certain sets of 2 and 4. Each agent can have up to 6 Disk Drives at a time. By making use of the same sets, you can activate certain set effects to further boost the power of your Agents.
  • W-Engines: These are equippable weapons with a fixed ATK bonus and an additional stat bonus that varies depending on the weapon.
