Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Gets New Heroes, Adjustments, and More in the 1.9.24 Update
The latest Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Patch 1.9.20 update has arrived, bringing plenty of new content in celebration of the MOBA’s 8th anniversary. Specifically, this new version brings us lots of goodies, including a new playable hero, a lot of balance tweaks, and tons of fun events. Whether you’re excited about trying out Suyou, tweaking your strategies with the latest balance changes, or earning exclusive anniversary rewards, there’s something for everyone.
Let’s take a look at the most relevant additions in this patch.
New Hero: Suyou Joins the Fight
Patch 1.9.20 introduces Suyou, a powerful Assassin/Fighter with a unique set of skills that make him a versatile threat on the battlefield. Suyou, hailing from Zhu’an, has inherited the power of the Immortal Nuo, and his abilities reflect both speed and precision.
- Passive – Transient Immortal: Suyou gains movement speed when tap-casting any skill, while hold-casting boosts his defenses, giving players a choice between mobility and durability.
- Skill 1 – Blade Surge: Tap-casting this skill makes Suyou throw his weapon in a target direction, hurting all enemies along the way, before blinking to the weapon’s location and slashing in the opposite direction. When hold-casting, this skill can also be used to charge at enemies, stunning them upon impact.
- Skill 2 – Soul Sever: Tap-casting unleashes a fan-shaped attack that deals higher damage to lower HP enemies. When held down, Suyou channels the power of the Immortal Nuo, he performs three powerful cleaves in a fan-shaped area while recovering HP on every hit.
- Skill 3 – Evil Queller: Tap-casting makes Suyou glide backward, unleashing a powerful swing in a rectangular area in front of him. Holding this skill shoots a deadly arrow that can devastate enemies from a distance.
Suyou will be officially available on September 21, 2024, so players will soon be able to experience his unique playstyle.
Hero Adjustments: Balance Changes for Various Heroes
The Patch 1.9.20 update also brings several balance changes aimed at fine-tuning the performance of multiple heroes, which will make picking and counterpicking more interesting in the next few weeks. These adjustments focus on ensuring that each hero remains competitive while addressing certain overpowered or underpowered abilities.
- Edith: She received adjustments to her passive and Ultimate. Her Magic Power bonus from Overload was previously ineffective during her Ultimate. With this patch, developers have fixed the issue while slightly reducing her overall damage to prevent her from becoming too overpowered.
- Lukas: He was buffed to enhance his early- to mid-game performance. In Sacred Beast form, his Flash Combo now stuns enemies, and his Flash Strike deals extra damage, making him a stronger force in both human and beast forms.
- Zhuxin: This hero got a slight nerf with a reduction in base mana, but his Skill 2’s mana cost was lowered to ensure that players can still effectively utilize his abilities in fights.
- Chip: He received an interesting adjustment. His ultimate now immobilizes enemies after a delay, increasing his effectiveness in teamfights. However, the cooldown for his Skill 4 has been significantly increased to reduce his overall support capabilities.
- Nolan: He’s receiving a boost to his killing abilities, with his Ultimate now slowing targets, while his mobility was slightly reduced to balance these buffs.
- Terizla: Known for his early-game strength, Terizla was nerfed to reduce his dominance in the early stages of the game, but his late-game power was increased to compensate.
These hero adjustments reflect Moonton’s ongoing effort to keep the gameplay balanced and engaging, ensuring no hero dominates or falls behind in the current meta.
