Tower of God: New World is an Idle RPG that draws heavy inspiration from the original Tower of God anime/IP. The game features iconic characters from the series such as Baam, Rachel, Khun, Rak, and more. Players can indulge in the rich gacha system to test their luck and obtain powerful Regulars. Although players might think that’s where the comparison with anime ends, that’s not the case. There are several instances where you will find yourself comparing the anime storylines to in-game adaptations. Let’s browse through them!

Integrated Storyline

The game closely follows the main storyline of the anime, ensuring that significant events, character developments, and major plot twists are represented. This provides a sense of familiarity for fans of the series while allowing new players to understand the overarching narrative. Major characters from the anime, such as Bam, Khun, and Rak, have their story arcs adapted into the game. Players can experience their growth, struggles, and relationships through quests and cutscenes, ensuring a deep connection to the characters

Gameplay Mechanics

The game’s story is primarily told through quests that mirror the adventures and challenges faced by the characters in the anime. Each quest is designed to push the narrative forward, often requiring players to complete specific tasks or defeat enemies that represent obstacles from the anime. To enhance the storytelling experience, the game includes cinematic cutscenes that recreate pivotal moments from the anime. These scenes are designed to be visually engaging and emotionally impactful, helping to bridge the gap between passive viewing and active participation.

Being the Main Character in the Tower of God Universe

While the main storyline stays true to the anime, the game also introduces side stories and new content that expand the “Tower of God” universe. These additions provide deeper insights into lesser-known characters and subplots, offering a more comprehensive understanding of the world. To give players the feeling of being in control, the developers have included many opportunities to make dialogue choices that can influence the direction of certain storylines. This interactive element allows for a more personalized experience, where players can feel like they are part of the story.

The Tower

The game emphasizes exploration, allowing players to navigate through various floors of the Tower. Each floor is designed to reflect the unique environments and challenges depicted in the anime, encouraging players to discover hidden secrets and lore. Throughout their journey, players can collect items and artifacts that provide additional lore and background information about the world of “Tower of God.” These collectibles often reference events and characters from the anime, deepening the narrative experience.

Character Development and Synergies

Much like we see an episodic character development in the anime, we also see the same narrative being played out in real-time. The only difference is that in the anime only Baam and other select few characters are empowered as they climb the floors of the Tower while in the game players can choose to advance any character of their liking. This difference is to be expected as the latter is a role-playing game that allows more diversity in team-building to tackle the different PvE and PvP content.

Of course, you will be able to create teams that resemble the actual anime. For instance, you can get extra synergy points for pairing up Baam, Khun, and Rak. You will also be able to build teams with characters that are polar opposites in the anime, such as Khun and Rachel. Hence, the game gives you a degree of freedom pertaining to team-building not seen in anime.

Events and Boss Fights

There are many events running all the time in Tower of God: New World. Players will be able to closely follow the event storylines that may or may not match with the actual events portrayed in the events. At the end of the day, it’s a game that takes originality to heart. Further, many characters are introduced in the game that are yet to be seen in the anime. For example, the 1st anniversary characters of Yeon sisters are yet to debut in the anime.

Headon’s daily quests are an integral part of your daily happenings in Tower of God: New World. They are quite similar to the constant tests given by Headon in the anime to other Regulars.

Immersive Soundtrack

The original soundtrack (OST) from the anime sets the mood for various in-game environments, from the serene moments of exploration to the intense battles. Each piece of music is carefully selected to match the tone and setting of the game’s different floors and scenarios. Key scenes and pivotal moments in the game are underscored by the anime’s music, heightening the emotional impact. Whether it’s a touching reunion, a moment of triumph, or a tragic event, the familiar tunes evoke the same feelings players experienced while watching the anime.

Playing Tower of God: New World on a bigger screen of your PC or Laptop with BlueStacks without worrying about battery drainage and smooth gameplay, is highly recommended.
