This guide covers every mechanic pertaining to photo cards and their usage.

What are Photocards?

Photocards are essentially collectibles that double down as equipment in battle stages. You will need to upgrade them in order to increase their power level and star rating. Photocards are used extensively in the Schedule stages and chapters to clear blocks. Players can get Photocards via the gacha system or through redeem codes/events. The former area is more reliable since the core purpose of the gacha system is to help players get more photo cards.

Each photocard is assigned a base rarity that can be seen on the top left-hand side of the card, denoted by the number of stars it has. The rarities are as follows:

  • 1-Star
  • 2-Star
  • 3-Star
  • 4-Star
  • 5-Star

The higher the rarity of the card, the more exclusive it is and the more power it exudes. By power, we mean the total points of the card. A number on the bottom left-hand side of the card denotes these points. This is a cumulative that takes into account various stats of the card, such as music, acting, fashion, and charm.

How to Upgrade Photocards in BLACKPINK THE GAME?

If you are having trouble clearing some schedule stages, there’s a high chance that you have weak cards in your inventory. Do not worry, as the game comprises many empowerment systems set in place not only to increase the points of any card but also to evolve any card to 5-Star. Yes, you can evolve a 1-Star card into a 5-Star card by simply following the Combine process.

Signatures are another important aspect of powering up your photo cards. Photo card signatures can only be done on 5-Star photo cards. This uses the same member’s Photo Card from the same grade, regardless of color, block shape, or level. After doing a Signature, bonus stats will be awarded to the Photo Card, and after the last fifth signature is completed, the member’s autograph will be etched on the photo card! Here’s a thorough step-by-step guide to trendy up your cards:

  • Head over to the photocard menu and select a card that you want to sign.
  • You can view the signature progress of the card.
  • The menu should also display the bonus stats the card will receive upon executing a Signature.
  • You can include the same member’s Photo Cards from the same grade level as materials.
  • You may examine how much gold would be consumed for the Signature.
  • Click the big pink button to complete the Signature.

The last process to increase the power of your cards is called “Limit Break.” You can further level up max level 1-4 Star photocards with the help of this process. Once you have reached the max level of the card, a blue button titled “limit break” should appear beneath the card. Keep in mind that limit breaking adds 10 levels above the maximum level of the card. Each time you limit break a card, its max level capacity increases by 2. Hence, you can limit breaking any 1–4-star card up to 5 times. To perform a limit break, you will require Shine Muscats and Dream Puzzle of Passion.
