Character Classes & Customization
The Witch: Rebirth features 6 different playable classes in the game which the player can choose from. As of writing this article, each class is gender-locked so players don’t have a lot of options for customization, including changes in the character’s appearance. The game plans to add more classes and customization options in the future so you can look forward to that if you’re planning on creating an avatar that better suits your preference in terms of aesthetic value.
In terms of class choice, each class has a different playstyle and specialization that the player needs to take a look at if they have a preference on what role they want to play in combat. There isn’t a “bad” class in the game but there are definitely choices that each player might have more fun playing. Scan through the different options first and take a look at their stat distribution on the bottom-right corner of the screen to see if you want to try playing the class you are looking at.
Gearing & Upgrading
Every RPG isn’t complete if it doesn’t involve the player obtaining different armor pieces, accessories, and weapons. Just like in traditional MMORPGs, the player can collect different gear by defeating enemies, clearing instances, completing missions, or participating in events. The ultimate goal for many players is to equip their character with the strongest equipment possible so that they can clear any content that they wish to do and rank higher in the PvP arena.
If you’re leveling, the easiest way to get equipment is by defeating bosses and clearing dungeons which yield a lot of useful rewards. However, players are encouraged to start crafting higher-level equipment at the highest levels to get the full value for the items that they get. Looted gear is still great if you manage to beat higher-level world bosses and clear really difficult dungeons. The most important thing to note is that you should always strive to get better gear drops.
Questing
Questing is a staple element in all RPGs. Questing gives the players direction on what they need to do next and since The Witch: Rebirth has a heavy emphasis on linear narrative, the questing in this game will take you from one place to another. The chain quests in this game might feel like a chore after playing for a while but players shouldn’t feel disheartened because the rewards that you get from completing those tasks are really useful, especially in the early stages of the game.
The Witch: Rebirth utilizes an auto-questing system which most players have mixed opinions about. A lot of players dislike auto-questing games but the vast majority simply don’t mind having the option to play the game while not playing the game at the same time. Regardless of your opinion of auto-questing, it’s important that players complete a certain number of main and side quests every day to maximize the number of rewards that they get from playing the game.
Dungeons & Bosses
We’ve already discussed the importance of dungeons and bosses in this game when we talked about gearing. It’s important to add that The Witch: Rebirth uses a traditional formula when it comes to the PvE content with players grinding it out by defeating powerful enemies either alone or with a group of people. More often than not, the group content in this game drops the best loot but if you can manage to solo it then you’ll have better chances of getting great stuff as a reward.
Dungeons allow the player to traverse through an instanced area, defeating random mobs until they reach the final boss. This game mode mostly involves solo play since the enemies are very easy to clear. World bosses are elite enemies found in public zones that allow groups of people to take down a single enemy. The world bosses often drop the best loot in the game so make sure that you participate in taking down these enemies so that you can farm powerful gear.
BP Rating
BP is basically the value of your character’s strength in The Witch: Rebirth. The value is calculated by taking the average of all your stat modifiers and your abilities. The more powerful the equipment you have on, the higher your BP rating will be. This value isn’t just meant to flex on other players in the game since some game modes require that the character have a certain amount of power rating before they can participate.
You might not feel like there is any inherent need to raise your character’s BP since a lot of players simply do it for the sake of vanity. However, it’ll be wise to continuously ramp up your power rating by farming new items that’ll make you stronger because you’ll end up facing powerful enemies eventually. Getting stuck under a certain BP rating threshold is the worst feeling when playing this game because the game won’t allow you to progress further.
