Summoners War: Sky Arena - New Monster Sky Surfer, ROBO, and Much More in Patch 6.3.6
Com2US keeps pumping out new content for their 7-year-old turn-based RPG Summoners War: Sky Arena, the first game in the now Summoners War franchise. The game is still quite popular despite its age with constant updates and events every 2nd week of the month. This Patch titled 6.3.6 is set to bring more new monsters, 5-Star, and 4-Star variants as well as new events for the same. New QOL changes and content updates are also scheduled to be seen in this Patch. Let’s get into the details for Patch 6.3.6 which will be hitting the global version on 13th Aug 2021 after maintenance ends.
This Patch 6.3.6 brings about the new teased heroes in this YouTube video on Summoners War official YouTube channel. The new monsters are the 5-Star Sky Surfer and the 4-Star ROBO. All skills and abilities of these heroes of every element are also revealed and listed in the official patch notes. A new event, made specifically for these new monsters is also scheduled to start after the maintenance ends on 13th August. These new events will be discussed further and require summoning but guarantee a Fire/Water/Wind 4-Star ROBO scroll if completed so it’s worth the chances if you have the resources.
New mock battle stages in the newly released Battle Training Grounds are being added which will have the upcoming monsters Sky Surfer and ROBO as the main focus. Trial of Ascension rewards is also getting a slight change with the addition of the new All-Attribute Legendary Scroll as the final reward. New Quality of Life changes as well item slots expansion is also planned to be increased with this Patch 6.3.6.
New Monster Sky Surfer
The new 5-Star monster Sky Surfer and 4-Star monster ROBO are coming to Summoners War: Sky Arena. The teaser for the monsters was revealed to all the players on various social media feeds by Com2US to build up the excitement! It’s scheduled to be coming with Patch 6.3.6 on 13th August. The new monsters are different with different playstyles. The Sky Surfers in general are more offensive control units while the ROBO is more utility and crowd control units. Here are the different element Sky Surfer’s and their skills: –
Fire Sky Surfer (John)
- Cutback Blow – Attacks the enemy to absorb the Attack Bar by 15% with a 50% chance.
- Impulse Gun – Attacks the enemy, increases the target’s skill cooldown time by 1 turn, and absorbs the Attack Bar by 30% with a 50% chance each. In addition, decreases your skill cooldown time by 1 turn if you successfully increased the skill cooldown time.
- Plasma Bomb – Installs a bomb that goes off after 1 turn on the enemy target and a bomb that goes off after 2 turns on all remaining enemies.
- Leader Skill – Increase the Resistance of ally monsters in the Arena by 55%.
John is a great unit that can take multiple turns with his attack bar absorption skills and can also control enemies with a decent attack bar reduction. He is a bomb unit, meaning a unit that utilizes the bomb mechanic. He is expected to work great with existing bombers like Seara and other bomb detonators. His leader skill might not be the best to use in areas like Arena as he does not fit into tank resistance-type teams. He also has a good cooldown reduction and cooldown increase mechanic which can let him cycle his bombs faster.
Water Sky Surfer (Miles)
- Cutback Blow – Attacks the enemy to absorb the Attack Bar by 15% with a 50% chance.
- Spin Grab Shot – Attacks the enemy to remove all beneficial effects with an 80% chance and stuns the enemy with a 30% chance.
- Jet Engine (Passive) – Increases your Attack Speed by 5%, up to 100%, for each beneficial effect granted on the enemies and allies. In addition, inflicts additional damage that ignores Defense in proportion to your Attack Speed when you attack the enemy on your turn.
- Leader Skill – Increase the Defense of ally monsters in the Arena by 44%.
Miles is a supporting type unit that can also deal good damage if built right. He does this using his passive which increases his attack speed depending on the number of beneficial effects on enemies as well as he ignores defense while attacking proportional to his attack speed. He is a tough monster to use as he is heavily dependent on buffs and can be used to counter them. He can also strip and stun while absorbing enemies Attack bar with his Skill 1 and Skill 2.
Wind Sky Surfer (Oliver)
- Cutback Blow – Attacks the enemy to absorb the Attack Bar by 15% with a 50% chance.
- Impulse Gun – Attacks the enemy, increases the target’s skill cooldown time by 1 turn, and absorbs the Attack Bar by 30% with a 50% chance each. In addition, decreases your skill cooldown time by 1 turn if you successfully increased the skill cooldown time.
- Mega Impulse Gun – Attacks the enemy, increases the target’s skill cooldown time by 1 turn, and absorbs the Attack Bar by 50%. In addition, decreases your skill cooldown time by 1 turn if you successfully increased the skill cooldown time. Increases the damage dealt with the enemy by 20% each, up to 100%, whenever you use [Mega Impulse Gun] skill on your turn.
- Leader Skill – Increase the Accuracy of ally monsters in Guild Content by 55%.
Oliver is a great monster of crowd-controlling enemies while dealing massive damage as well. He can cycle his skills well with his constant Attack Bar absorption which lets him get more turns regularly. He shares the same skill 1 and skill 2 as his Fire and Light element counterparts. He also can reduce his cooldowns with his skill 2 and skill 3 which makes him a menace to deal with. We recommend building him with Violet/Swift runes along with Blade/Will depending on the arena you are planning to use him. Build him with pure damage and speed on slot 6 rune.
Light Sky Surfer (Daniel)
- Cutback Blow – Attacks the enemy to absorb the Attack Bar by 15% with a 50% chance.
- Impulse Gun – Attacks the enemy, increases the target’s skill cooldown time by 1 turn, and absorbs the Attack Bar by 30% with a 50% chance each. In addition, decreases your skill cooldown time by 1 turn if you successfully increased the skill cooldown time.
- Quantum Explosion – Attacks all enemies to decrease their Attack Bar by 50% each. If the Attack Bar of an enemy (bosses excluded) becomes 0 and there is no more Attack Bar to be decreased, decreases the enemy’s HP by the remaining amount of Attack Bar to be decreased.
- Leader Skill – Increase the Critical Rate of ally monsters in the Arena by 33%.
Daniel, the light elemental Sky Surfer shares the same skill 1 and skill 2 as his Fire and Wind counterparts. His 3rd skill Quantum Explosion is an AOE attack bar reduction skill that can deal massive damage to enemies who have a low attack bar. He can be paired well with attack bar reducers and crowd control units. He needs to be built with high accuracy as well as high speed and runed on Will Runes in case enemy teams try to CC lock him.
Dark Sky Surfer (Jackson)
- Cutback Blow – Attacks the enemy to absorb the Attack Bar by 15% with a 50% chance.
- Spin Grab Shot – Attacks the enemy to remove all beneficial effects with an 80% chance and stuns the enemy with a 30% chance.
- Synergistic Effect (Passive) – Increases your Attack Bar by 5% each whenever the Attack Bar of enemies and allies decreases. In addition, increases the effect of the Attack Bar increasing the skills of all allies and enemies by 50%. This effect does not accumulate and does not apply in battles against bosses.
- Leader Skill – Increase the Accuracy of ally monsters in the Arena by 55%.
Jackson is an attack bar boosting menace which can be paired up with Verdehile to make enemies’ life hell as they struggle to even get a single turn. He shares the same skill 1 and skill 2 as his Water counterpart but the real cherry on the cake is his passive which boosts the attack bar by 50% on all allies and enemies as well. This skill is only useful against enemy players and does not apply to bosses, so don’t start thinking of teams with him in dungeons. However, he is an attack bar boosting machine and no one can deny that. He also strips and stuns with his 2nd skill Spin Grab Shot.
ToA Rewards, Mock Battle Stages, and Other Improvements
Patch 6.3.6 will bring with it the new monster’s Sky Surfer and ROBO which was discussed in detail above. However, it’s a given not everyone will be able to summon them and enjoy their use. Com2US is releasing 2 new stages in the newly released Battle Ground content where players can use these new monsters and strategize to defeat the floors. As usual, the rewards will remain the same as in other stages.
The Trial of Ascension is an age-old content that recently saw a new Hell Mode being added to it at the beginning of the year along with the usual Normal and Hard mode. However, now Com2US is changing the rewards of ToA but only on the 100th floor. They are replacing the Legendary Scroll reward obtained by defeating the 100th floor of ToA with an All-Attribute Legendary Scroll. The difference is that the All-Attribute Legendary Scroll includes the Light and Dark elements as well so players have a small chance to obtain Nat 4 and Nat 5 Light/Dark monsters from these scrolls as well which makes this a more welcome change among the community.
The number of inventory slots for Gems and Grindstone is also increasing from 1200 to 1500 now. The mana rewards obtained from Rift Raids Level 2-5 are also being increased to adjust with the current mana cost of players. A new ToA Pass will be added which can be purchased with real money in-game to double the rewards that are normally obtained by clearing ToA. This pass has to be separately bought for both Normal and Hard difficulty. Many other bugs and QOL changes are made which can be seen by reading their official patch notes.
We recommend playing Summoners War: Sky Arena on a PC using BlueStacks with a keyboard and mouse for the best experience.
