Once Human: Raids and their Mechanics
Once Human is an upcoming open-world survival game that features lush surroundings, multiple servers, and tons of PvE and PvP content. The game allows you to configure your character as a meta-human, an evolved form of humans to adapt to the harsh post-apocalyptic conditions. Raiding is an important aspect of Once Human, and you will likely need to play this game mode in order to get more resources. It’s been revealed that the global version will be fully equipped with Raids. This guide explores all the mechanics associated with Raids in Once Human. Let’s begin!
What are Raids?
Raids are essentially dungeon runs but in a more glorified manner. Players can unlock their first raid (4-man) after completing the “Ghosts of the Past” quest and going to the LEA Research Center. The difficulty of raids is much higher than your average PvE content. Hence, a party of 4 people is required. Ensuring you are prepared for this challenge is important. Thoroughly check if you have enough consumables in your backpack. Also, make sure your weapons are fine tuned and have ample ammunition since you won’t be able to get more during Raids.
During the raids, you will encounter many different enemies with differing combat mechanics. It’s advised that all members of the team bring guns with different attributes. You will need all type of gun attributes in order to offset the threat of diverse enemies faced in Raids. Raids are divided into multiple stages and completing each stage will provide you with a different set of rewards.
Do not fear if you die during Raids, as you will be resurrected at the previous save point and resume your journey. Completing a raid will grant you equipment, firearms, blueprint pieces, and other goodies. Using the container can significantly boost the prizes you obtain.
Raid Dungeon
The challenging dungeon is known as Raid in the game. Compared to the Challenge of Big Ones, the Raid feature a longer process, a more complex level interaction system, a more intriguing background story, a higher numerical difficulty, and more rare rewards. Raid contains three levels.
To clear the stage, players must work together to achieve each level’s mission (killing Big Ones, protecting targets, getting items, etc.). Each level has a matching reward, and the final award is acquired after finishing the entire dungeon. In addition to regular rewards, Raid offers restricted firearm blueprints and uncommon development material.
Preparing for Raids
In this section, we aim to help players prepare for the high difficulty challenge of Raids. Coming to the basics, team composition and coordination is important. Make sure you are raiding with your friends with whom you can communicate clearly. Raiding with randoms reduces the chances of survival since they won’t be able to understand the importance of a balanced team composition. A maximum of 4 players can participate in a Raid. Each member should take up a valuable role in the team to increase the chances of survival. These roles are as follows:
- Tank: The tank’s primary role is to absorb damage and control the boss’s aggro. Ensure your tank has high defense, health, and abilities that can taunt or draw the boss’s attention.
- DPS (Damage Dealers): DPS players are responsible for dealing as much damage as possible. A balanced mix of melee and ranged DPS is often ideal.
- Healer: The healer keeps the team alive by restoring health and removing debuffs. It’s crucial to have at least one dedicated healer with strong healing skills.
- Support: Support players can provide buffs, debuffs, and additional utility such as crowd control or resurrection skills.
Proper positioning is critical. Tanks should keep the boss faced away from the group, DPS should spread out to avoid AoE attacks, and healers should stay within range but safe from direct damage. Coordinate the use of powerful cooldowns and abilities. This prevents overlapping buffs and ensures continuous damage or healing throughout the fight.
Playing Once Human on a bigger screen of your PC or Laptop with BlueStacks without worrying about battery drainage and smooth gameplay, is highly recommended.
