We have shared some of them below!

Tip #1. Choose your Starting Character Carefully

Perhaps the best advice we can grant to any new player would be to choose your starting character carefully. The game offers you a choice of 3 different characters, each belonging to a unique class. They are – Asheran, Roskva, and Lif. Out of the 3 characters, we would recommend choosing Lif if you’re a complete beginner, Asheran if you like playing as a melee ranged warrior, and Roskva if you like playing high DPS characters. While each of the characters are unique, the game’s roguelike mechanics also blend in seamlessly, eliminating the need of actually tapping any buttons to attack. Your character auto attacks when not moving, and your only focus should be on gauging the path of movement. 

Choosing a character that you feel does not suit your playstyle will kill the joy and thrill that the game tries to impart. This fact also heightens by the fact that you will likely not unlock a new character for several days, forcing you to play the game with a character who you do not like. We would recommend checking out all the classes in the game thoroughly and read up their strengths and weaknesses. 

Tip #2. Progress in the Main Story Chapters

Since VALHALLA SURVIVAL is a live-service game, the playtime is gated by a virtual currency called Action Point. These points recharge on their own as time passes, or players can choose to purchase more AP by using their Diamonds, or watching advertisements. We can sufficiently say that AP is the main gatekeeper of progression. To maximize your time and efficiency, we would recommend using it firstly on main story chapter stages. Not only are these stages the most rewarding in terms of account experience, growth materials, but they also are important to clear if you want to unlock more game modes and features. 

For example, the ability to unlock new characters and switch between them unlocks after you clear stage 1-4 of the main story. Keep in mind, as you progress the difficulty of the stages and the bosses inside them also increases. Ensure to strengthen your account accordingly.

Tip #3. Movement is Key to Success! (And Survival)

VALHALLA SURVIVAL ’s combat is all about your character movement. Since you do not need to press any buttons to attack or dodge, all your time and effort should be put into movement tracking and pathing. Each stage boasts a different worldview that is limited from your perspective as there is no indicative mini-map in the game. You are trapped in a small vertical landscape screen and there will be enemies constantly surrounding you from all directions. Do not fear, and pave the way for yourself among the crowd. You can attract a large group of enemies to one side and then sprint away to the corner of the screen to provide you space. 

Tip #4. Strengthen your Characters 

Another perk of VALHALLA SURVIVAL being an RPG game is that you can upgrade your core characters directly outside of the game as well. Their in-game level is different from their core level. You can consume growth resources to increase character levels and impart them with higher base stats to work with. These stats can further be improved by equipping characters with weapons, and equipment. All of these gears provide additional stats that get added onto the character when they start the battle.  

Tip #5. Choose your Skills Wisely!

VALHALLA SURVIVAL has a very intricately designed skill system wherein there are multiple different types of skills. There are class skills, character skills, weapon skills, and more. You can choose up to 8 different skills in the slots provided before you start any stage. Only the skills equipped will be given as options when you level up the character in-game. Along with skills, players can also get character stat boosts as options when you level up. Do not fall into this trap and maximize obtaining skills and skill upgrades in the early levels.
